The Dress - Where did you go?

Original post by FutureMrsB722

Hi all,

So I am starting to freak out a bit about dress shopping! Where did you end up going for your dress? Where should I avoid? I'm in Nassau and my family is in Queens so NYC/Nassau/Suffolk are all good!

Thanks ladies :)

I got my dress from Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook. It was not a style they carried but because I purchased from them previously they ordered it for me.

If you are going to get alterations done at the dress shop don't go too far. The month before your wedding you will not want to spend 2+ hours between alterations and traveling, 2-3 times.

i purchased my dress at village bridal in babylon. my consultant was krissy and i had an AMAZING experience. i was not rushed at all, she let us take photos, etc.

I also purchased my dress at Village Bridal in Babylon and had Krissy as a consultant. My dress came in at the beginning of the month which was on the earlier end of the range they gave me and I loved shopping there. Definitely recommend it.

eeee!!!! this makes me so excited!! i hope mine comes in early, too!

I went to Bridal Suite of Huntington (not a very good selection), Lillette's and Bridal World. Bridal World had a decent selection and were in my price range. I never made it to Bridal Reflections but I hear the Massapequa one is very good.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy your dress from Paradise Bridal in Patchogue!!!!! I had numerous issues with them as well as overhearing others' issues whenever I was there. Long story short, my dress came in 3 weeks before my wedding when it was supposed to be in almost 4 month earlier at the latest as I ordered it over a year in advance. Oh yeah, and they saw nothing wrong with this and were annoyed at me for being upset! They are rude and disorganized to say it nicely! Google reviews...you'll see!

I did not purchase a dress yet but went to Fantasia in Rocky Point and the service was EXCEPTIONAL! I was there for 2 1/2 hours, NEVER felt rushed or forced into making a purchase. I did find a dress I LOVE but still want to shop around. They also sell the dresses for the lowest price allowed by the designer. I highly recommend them :)

I had my dress custom made in the end, but I went to a few places and the Wedding Salon in Manhasset was by far the best experience. The woman who helped me (patty I think?) was so patient with me and let me try on as many gowns as I wanted to. I also thought they had a great selection of different styles there.

I had the best customer service at the Bridal Salon in Manhasset! They made me feel comfortable and also gave me a discount on the dress.

I ordered my dress from RK Bridal. I knew exactly what I wanted and decided to go the 'no frills' route in order to get the best price.
