The Harrison House

Has anyone been to or know anything about the Harrison House in Glen Cove?

Re: The Harrison House

I went to a conference there for a weekend and it is beautiful and the food was great. However, I hear it is really expensive. But if cost isn't a factor, you may want to check it out. They have nice rooms so if you have a lot of out of town guests, this would be a good choice.

Re: The Harrison House

I went to a wedding there in June and it was beautiful. The food was really good. The cocktail hour was by the pool outside and the reception was in the garden room. Everything was great! It's looks a little like a country club.

Re: The Harrison House

I went there for work training for two weeks. It's a beautiful place. The food was very good as well, but I heard that it is about $185 pp. Also, you should check to see how much the guest rooms are per night, because we paid $225 per night which is a little expensive to ask your guests to pay.

Re: The Harrison House

My cousin had her wedding there, it was a nice place but when i looked at it for my wedding it was very expensive. Way out of my budget.

Although one of the rooms was very dark.

Re: The Harrison House

I'm paying $125 for Saturday night during an off peak month (January)
I think peak was $150 and the minimum might have been higher as well (we're guaranteeing 150)

That's for a cocktail hour with 3 stations and 8 passed hors d'oeuvres
Full sit down dinner
Dessert and Wedding Cake
5 hours open bar

The rooms that we blocked for our guests were given to us at a rate of $125 per night.

Considering the prices I was hearing for Manhattan locations, FH and I thought this place was a STEAL.
Haven't gone for my tasting yet, but I've heard nothing but good things. We fell in love with the place because it seemed convenient with the adjacent hotel and because of the upstairs bar (after party)
We booked it immediately and didn't even bother looking at any other site.

Feel free to e-mail me.

Re: The Harrison House

We looked into getting married there after we went to a wedding there in September 2000. The food was good, not wonderfully spectacular.....

We got married in May and they wanted $130 per person and to guarantee 125 for a Saturday afternoon. We thought it was too expensive.... But I loved the atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful for picture taking.

We got married at the Sans Souci in the next town over, so we did the next best thing. We had our guests stay there, and we got the bridal suite for the night. We had a free breakfast in the morning.

What we really liked about the place was that they have a pub upstairs with pool tables, ping pong, juke box, etc. It was a great place to go and have a few drinks for our after party and unwind...

Re: The Harrison House

My company had their Christmas Party there last year. It's a really nice place, but I think they have multiple events going on at once.

Food was good too and the grounds and house are gorgeous.
