i was on the knot.com just browsing reception ideas...while the pictures are all stunning and gorgeous, theyre a little UNREALISTIC to me, does anyone feel that way? not helpful ideas for the common bride.. . i mean most of us will have a nice, classy wedding within whatever budget we have...but some of the stuff on theknot is like for brides that seem like they have no budget ? i wouldnt be surprised if they color coordinated the reception halls bathroom toilet paper with their wedding colors ...anyone feel that way...
i feel like everytime i read the description of the picture the setting is either : a villa a mansion huge grand backyard by the pool hawaii
The pictures are like that and vendors and all that they have but the majority of people on the knot do not have weddings like that...Most of them have small budgets...I posted my budget once and everyone was like OMG you are crazy and blah blah blah. But then again people on the knot LOVe fighting with eachother and that is all you see if you read the boards...If there is no drama that day people will even post ugh its boring where is the drama or call out a certain person on there and say where is this idiot when you need entertainment.

I completely agree. Thats why I stopped going on that site. When I was still looking for reception sites I checked there and set the 1 $ symbol to see what they considered reasonably priced, they showed me halls that charged over $150 a person. Their crazy. I like their wedding shop though, I bought a few things when they had a big sale.
Btw that 2nd centerpiece is real ugly.

ITS REAL BAD, seriously they just fight and nobody can say anything...If any girl goes on there and complains about anything for example about a bm not doing something or anything close to that you will get ripped apart. You can't say you like anything princess like they have a name for people like that it's called a beebee, if you're too excited about your wedding they say things lol.
I never even said any of those things and all these girls just came in one time in a thread i had just posted in and all they did was attack how i looked, they said how fake my boobs looked-MEANWHILE THEY'RE real, and some girls actually said yeah i can tell they're real...So when that was done with they were like well how fake are your lips and again they're real, then they went on about my nails and again those are real lol...Then talking about fh and how he dresses and looks lol, these were all people who didn't live in NY and to them NY styles are a bit outrageous...And everytime they saw me in threads they would say something lol, which is pretty pathetic.

they had a whole big thread on e-rings and more than half of them were saying oh i wouldn't want a big ring my hands are too small and all these other things

They just put everything down lol...there are some very nice people on there too don't get me wrong...But theres a group of them do fight all the time, so that makes others not post and they take over. I used to go on there ALL the time...i went away for a bit and then when i came back i got caught up with other things and didnt go on for a while and then kinda stopped lol.

I never go on the boards there, I only look at the wedding bios for ideas, and you can get some great ideas. Not everyone has a lot of money or had some ridiculous wedding. In fact, I bet most people here on the LIW board are spending more money on their wedding than most people on the Knot, if only because it's SO expensive to have a wedding on Long Island. And then there was whole thing the other day about open bars vs cash bars--most other places in the country don't have open bars, they think it's too much money. I guess if you're paying $20 a plate for dinner, the price of an open bar seems like a lot, but at the price we're paying, it's not big deal. I'm not sure you could have a dessert-only reception on Long Island for $20 a plate, the site fees alone would be higher than that.

OMG Denise that is terrible!! I would have been so pissed!! Who are they to comment on you and FH's looks?? That's truly bizzare...People get so jealous!! I never go on those boards and now I'm glad I stay away!!
