Haha wow this got long...I'm sure you can all guess who its about. You're all probably sick to death of hearing it but here it goes...

FMIL has really lost it. To start, we are driving out to Ohio for xmas so that she can spend time with FSD. Apparently, that's not enough. FSD's birthday is December 4 (a Friday this year). FMIL decides she wants to fly out here on the 3rd and fly back to Ohio the 5th so she can be here for FSD's bday.

This is a REALLY inconvenient time for us. Thursdays we both work and on Thursday nights I have school so FH has to be home by 5:30 (which is a tight squeeze for us). It is the week before my finals week. My parents are busy Thursday nights as well. There is NOBODY to pick her up from the airport.

ON TOP OF THAT...what is she coming for, anyway?? I get that she wants to be with FSD on her birthday, but she'll be in school all day long!! And then she's leaving the next day!! So she really wants to inconvenience EVERYONE for a couple of hours!!

We tell her we want to discuss it. FH discusses it with her, about how its not really a good time and the logistics aren't great. He ends the conversation with her last night under the impression that there will be more discussions about it.

He gets a call this morning from her, letting him know that SHE JUST BOOKED A TICKET. She decided she was just going to IGNORE everything we said and book a freakin ticket!!!! She goes 'Oh well it gets in to MacArthur and I can get on the train and get to you that way'...this is a woman who can't even handle NY traffic, she's going to navigate a transit system she's never experienced before?? Also, does the train even come near the airport?? Its her passive aggressive ploy to get us to bend over backwards and rearrange our whole lives to pick her up....WELL IT AIN'T HAPPENING, CRAZY!!!! She can take the train and get here when she gets here and if she gets lost OH WELL....she made her bed, SHE CAN LIE IN IT!!

WTH is wrong with the women in FH's family?!?!

UPDATE - FH comes home...and he tells me that not only is she still DEFINITELY coming...but he INFORMS me of her plans for that Friday...she's going to bake FSD a cake! PRAY TELL, WHERE IS SHE GOING TO BAKE THIS CAKE?!?! She's just decided that not only is she going to be staying with us or my parents, but she's going to be using my or my parents kitchen to bake this child a cake!! But not only that, I'm guessing she expects US to get her all the materials she needs!!!

WHO ASSUMES CRAP LIKE THIS?!?!?! My goodness....its just so freakin ridiculous!!!!

UPDATE #2 - FH is on the phone w/her right now confronting her about her heinous behavior. WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED!!!

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE (lol!) - She hung up on him!!!! He was actually standing up for himself but being totally calm and rational about it, talking about how its really a terrible time of the year for us and all this stuff and she goes 'I'M SORRY MY COMING TO VISIT IS SUCH A BURDEN!' and hung up!!!!

Is your FFIL around? Sounds like he is not. If he isn't, try to be a little understanding to her lonliness and wanting to see her grandchild. I am sure she will want to see yours someday.

What does your FSD feel about this? (I don't know her age).

HOWEVER, I do see your point of view, it's totally a bad time. If I was her, I'd say OK, so when's a better time. I am sure your FSD won't be scarred for life cuz GM didn't spend her BD on the EXACT day.

He's completely around, they've been going strong since they day they were married. Actually FH told me that she was a little more candid on the phone and is basically coming here to 'check up' on us and make sure FSD is happy here...because as you know, I'm a horrible terrible evil stepmother and can't be trusted...and FH has terrible judgment and would let me abuse his child.

WTH does she think she's gonna do if she doesn't like how things are going for FSD here??? She'll probably flip when she realizes FSD is happy here without her and try to drag us all down because she can't handle the fact that someone else is raising her granddaughter.

LMAO...that is why I post them. I know I looooove hearing about other people's drama so it works both ways...I get to vent about the psychos and you all get to hear alll the drama and then also get to be thankful that your FILs are not COMPLETELY psychotic like mine are

Ok, I feel bad for the popcorn so here goes. I know this is a shot in the dark but how many times have you and FMIL done something alone, like dinner or shopping? Maybe she needs some 'girl time' with you.

LMAO....FMIL hates me. She told FH that one of the reasons she was so looking forward to coming out here is that she wanted to 'get to know me better'.

...When FH and I first started dating I came out there for TWO WEEKS and seeing as he lived with his parents at the time, I stayed in their house!! AND FH still had to work so I was with his mom ALL DAY for 10 DAYS!!! Not to mention the dozens of other times I went out there to visit for long weekends and FH was working. She's had PLENTY of time to get to know me, but instead of doing that she found little things I said and twisted them around to demonize me...and in the future she only paid attention to things I said that cemented her delirious view of me.

A day of 'girl time' just the two of us is FMIL's idea of hell. (not that its not my idea of hell as well...but just sayin)

Don't feel bad...I spun the wheel just like everyone else, mine landed on cuckoo bananas...it happens, I guess.

To answer your question, FSD's birth mother lives in Georgia...FH has full custody.

your FMIL should give you a little credit for stepping up and becoming a custodial step MOm. It's a hard thankless job for some.

I just got the craziest mental image...if I were taking a crazy shower courtesy of FMIL, apparently it looks like a rain shower except there's razor blades instead of rain
