the most disgusting story ever about my puppy

Ok, this is pretty gross, but i thought id share since its a bit amusing.

FH and I just recently got our second dog. She's a 4month old golden retriever.

Well, FH & I were walking both our dogs down on this trail behind our house. it kind of like in the woods.

The puppy, picked something up in her mouth, and I thought it was a napkin. She carried it around for a little bit and FH told i better get it before she swallows it.

As I was pulling it from her mouth, I could tell it was already half way down her throat by the way it felt coming out. When I got it partially out, I saw blood. Thats when I realized it was a bloody pad.

I panicked, gagged, and was extremely close to throwing up. During this, I let go of it, and she swallowed it. She swallowed a whole pad.

So, I was freaking out. Obviously, that can't be healthy. I called the vet, explained what happened, and she told me to feed her lots of mashed patatoes and butter bread, and in the next day or two hopefully it would pass. If not, we'd have to take her in.

Fortunately, she threw it up today. The whole thing came back out of her mouth. It was so heavy because it absorbed a lot of stuff I guess.

OH YUCK!!!!!!!! I am so glad that she was able to get rid of it though. But OMG Nichole- I think that is the most disgusting dog story I ahve ever heard.

i got my 4 month old puppy the same weekend you got yours ( i remember we posted it on the same day ) and she eats EVERYTHING too...im glad your puppy threw it up though!!

firstly i am completely jealous that you have a golden retriever. i want to get one so badly but we don't have the room at the moment.

secondly that was so disgusting!!! i thought my sisters dog was gross when she eats tissues but this tops it all.

ha! my dog once went through my trash and downed not one but THREE tampons. needless to say, I now have a trashcan with a lid on it and I put it underneath the sink. he was fine though, as i am pretty sure he has the most powerful stomach ever.

My dog used to eat them all of the time. It was his fetish. I had to lock make sure to close the bathroom door or put the garbage up on the shelf or else it was a smorgashboard for him. Its gross.

my dog has eaten tampons before... if i used pads im sure she would have eaten one of them also...

my dog always went for them too along with my SILS 2 dogs. i think it's more normal than we think LOL

my cats like taking them when they are still in the package
