The most or the less you would pay

for your wedding dress. I found one for $5000. Everyone tells me that is too much to pay for a wedding dress. What do you think?

if thats your DREAM dress and you can swing it go for it! Personally i cant see doing that, but again id never even look at a 5k dress bc i know id fall in love and not be able to have it!

i myself did not want to spend over 2k...i ended up buying dress number1 for 1900, hated it after it came in, and then had to buy dress number 2, for about 2400 when all was said and done..i recommend looking at EVERY possiblity and exhausting ALL of your options (can this dress be made by a dressmaker for less...can this dress be found somewhere else for less?) and if you havent found another way and you still LOVE this dress, buy it..or it will haunt you, like mine did lol ;)

I wouldn't-even though we can afford it-but that being said we are looking for a house and mostly paying for the wedding ourselves so I don't see the need.

I would look around and if there is nothing else-then I would go for it if I were you.

ditto. while i know i could never spend that much on a dress personally (i had issues spending $1K on my gown); if you CAN swing it without any issues of paying for it, and it's your dream gown, go for it. it's your wedding

My limit is 4000. i just hope i dont fall in love with anything more than that, and i really hope i fall in love with something less than that!

It really depends on your personal financial sitution- its different for everyone.
Even though my mother is buying my dress & gave me no limits I'm still aiming to have it come out to less than 2k for the gown. Anything over that just seems too much for a dress I will only wear once, but that's just me! I'm not a big spender in general!

i know its a special day, but its only one day. I found a dress I loved and it was like 12K, i couldn't justify wearing something that costs as much as a car! (a small car). I didn't want to go overboard on the costs of my dress and luckily I found one that i fell inlove with and it was $800 under my max price! We are also both trying to save for a house and contribute what we can towards the wedding. JMHO

Hello Ladies,

Well, I do think it's to much for the dress...Remember you two have to be comfortable afterwards. And to be honest if I had it like that I wouldn't spend that much. Got to use WISDOM!!!!!
