I saw a few posts from people looking for prices - assume you will spend $1000 a day... so if you will be on your HM for 7 nights assume $7000...it isn't exact but it will give you an idea of what the price will be

wow $1000 per day???? That seems like a LOT!

Definitely that is a good assumption....trip costs roughly $1000 per day! Then don't forget food and stuff while you're there....I would say at least $100 per day while there...AT LEAST!

ohhhhhhhhhh.... i thoguht she meant $1000 spending money for each day! oops

I feel much better now. When I first read your response I thought maybe I had gotten screwed on the price or something because you reacted with shock But yes I thinik $1000 a day spending money is way too much

I leave in 18 days! I can't wait!!!
Let me know if there's anything you want me to look out for!

OH also - I heard that all Monday flights from JFK to Papeete have been cancelled...you will have to fly thru LAX now. So if you were on a Monday flight I'd check with your TA to talk about the changes you'll have to make. Luckily I am on the Friday flight!

Moorea Pearl has done some minor updates...sounds cool! Here is the press release they sent out today...

Ia Orana dear friends and partners,

Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa is pleased to announce a significant array of amenity additions.

Our primary improvement is the addition of private pools to all garden bungalows. The property now features 28 Garden Pool Bungalows, each with a private garden and pool surrounded by a wood fence which offers total privacy and intimacy. This bungalow category is unique on the island of Moorea and is ideal for families and honeymooners seeking tranquility.
We invite you to experience these thatched roof bungalows, located in the heart of the property’s lush tropical garden.

At Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa, we are committed to guest satisfaction and enjoyment, and are always looking for ways to improve and upgrade our resort. Please find here below the additional amenities that are now available:

- Extension of gourmet restaurant Le Matiehani to be situated near the recently-expanded beach, offering a unique alternative to dine under the stars

- At the Auteraa poolside bar, enlargement of the garden to include tables, chairs and umbrellas

- Installation of 26-inch LCD flat screen televisions, including four movie channels and Pay TV, in all 95 rooms, duplex and bungalows

- Installation of a 40-inch LCD flat screen television behind the activity desk to showcase excursions

- New, Italian bed linens in all rooms, duplex and bungalows

- Cushioned bathtub head rests in all overwater bungalow bathrooms

- Addition of canvas lounge chairs, both poolside and on the private decks of garden bungalows

- Installation of solar panels for purposes of economizing hot water production

Our team looks forward to welcoming you in Moorea’s Hidden Paradise.

Sunny regards from Moorea

Re: The Official 2007 French Polynesia Thread

Hi ladies,

We are still trying to decide on our honeymoon....we can't decide between french polynesia or the mediterranean (greece, italy, france, spain, etc.). Our travel agent thinks we will like the mediterranean better since there are not many night activities to choose from on those islands, unless we decided to see the FP islands via the Tahitian Princess. Plus we are not huge watersport people...primarily since we both are not strong swimmers so she thinks 2 weeks vacationing in FP may not be for us.

Has anybody taken or will be taking the Tahitian Princess?

I am going out on a limb here, but has anybody been to the mediterranean and FP who could provide more insight for me?

Re: The Official 2007 French Polynesia Thread

hi,

well excellent choices on the possible hm destinations!

For starters, FP is total rest and relaxation.
You wake up and you enjoy your surroundings and take it all in. you are, afterall, in one of the world's most beautiful place!
when you eat, you dine. It is important to slow yourself down.
And then you swim, or lay on your float, in the lagoon- the water is like bath water from what i hear, very calm, relaxing...
and then you can do an excursion or some sight seeing tours and get ready for dinner!

Now, you mentioned the Tahiti princess and i must say that we were very close to booking that cruise. We liked that it visited all the main places we wanted to go to and we liked that it had all the regular cruise actitives ( bar, club. casino, shows)-anything to keep us occupied when the town shuts down however, the cruise left a week after our wedding and we decided against it.
i've heard great things about the cruise. if you type in Tahiti Princess in the search box, you will find a lot of info. I believe an '06 bride did the cruise and wrote a great review on it! I think her name was Jeanine ?? nott sure of her screenname here.. i can double check if you are interested..

otherwise Greece, Italy etc.- they sound like a dream! you cant go wrong!
My only concern witht he med. cruise was that i did not want to be on the schedule of someone else. that was my only problem with cruises. what if i wanted to spend more time in Venice than Rome or vice versa. also, me and fi are not early risers and if you look at the intinerary, the ship ports pretty early and leaves early evening so you have to get out of bed on time to fully enjoy the day....
I would totally do a cruise in a heart beat but i would save it for a vacation. dont get me wrong tons of brides go on cruises for their hm. and love it. its all a matter of personal preferrence...

well i wrote a novel!! i hope that helped!! fm me for further info or questions...

take care!! good luck!
