I was thinking of doing it, but decided against it. The last few wedding I've been too that have had it I didnt even take anything. I was so full from cocktail hour and dinner, I had no room left. I do like it though and think it's very nice for the guests.

Thanks for the tip on the Residence Inn. I will definately look into that one.
As far as the Viennese hour, leaving the table and the chairs in the room was a concern for me. I spoke with Nadine and she told me that they could take the chairs out, this way your guests didn't stay in there. Its an option.
I'm at the Melville Marriott! I was very happy with their customer service over the Hilton. I'm getting ready there, and we are having brunch the next day as well.
Did you block a lot of rooms or did you book just for you and FH? Is this hotel far from NRC?
It's not far at all! I think we have 50 rooms blocked, plus a suite for me to get ready in and for the wedding night. We're providing shuttle service to and from the hotel to NRC.
Awesome! The hotel doesn't provide the shuttle? I am looking to block a few rooms near the NRC too. I'm just not sure which hotel yet. Thanks!
Some hotels have shuttles on site, but they are usually small vans and they will usually charge you extra for them. We need to transport about 75 people, so that would be way too many trips in a van.

Oh ok, I gotcha. Yeah that would be too many trips. Thanks for the info!

I have the Viennese hour and was told my cocktail hour was at 7, reception from 8-12, which includes the Viennese hour which would start at 10:45 or 11.
My cocktail hour is 730-830 and reception 830-1230 which includes viennese....hmm maybe thats just how they do it..4 hour reception including viennese??

Our ceremony is at 3, we are going to Vanderbilt Mansion for pictures, then i hope to get to NRC about 6:30. Cocktail hour starts at 7, and while i used to think we had a ton of time, we really don't! George said that they will allow people in and open a small bar prior to 7 (starting at like 6:15) b/c we are shuttling lots of people from the hotel. They will definitely not leave you or your guests out in the cold!

Re: ~THE OFFICIAL 2009 NORTH RITZ CLUB THREAD~
Is there anyone getting married December 12th? I am getting married Friday the 11th and was interested in getting the tooling for the ceiling. I wasn't sure if there was a bride getting married the next day that would want to split it.

Re: ~THE OFFICIAL 2009 NORTH RITZ CLUB THREAD~
Question - I saw someone mention on another thread that they were not having a RD because there was no wedding rehearsal at NRC. I am having my ceremony there and am wondering how the heck to have a wedding without having a rehearsal! Is this true? Can I ask to have one? I am getting married on a Friday night ... does that make a difference???

Royalton bride crashing!! I don't know how it is at NRC, but at the Royalton, you don't really have a true rehearsal either. They do a run through 30 mins before the ceremony. I'm fine with that, since we're already doing pics before our ceremony. I'm also getting married on a Friday night. I'm sure Jamie (futuremrsd2009) who's getting married there really soon ( ) will be able to help you with these specific questions! I just didn't want you to think it was unheard of not to have a big rehearsal

When I booked, I spoke with Nadine about it. She said that usually they don't have one, but you can request it.

Whew - that is great. I am working with Nadine as well. I had no idea I had to even request one! I seriously cannot see myself doing a quick run through 30 min before. I think I need more than that. I guess I will make an appt to stop by and see Nadine to talk it out - she has been SO HELPFUL with all this stuff so far!
Thanks so much!

We were initially going to get married at NRC, and I was freaking out at the prospect of not being able to have a true rehearsal the night before. We are getting married in a church now, so it's no big deal for us. I think NRC will be accommodating as long as they don't have another event going on the night before. With a Friday night wedding, you probably have a better chance of sneaking in there on a Thursday!

WE are getting married in a church so this isnt an issue for us but I'm sure if you call Nadine she will be able to get a rehearsal in for you....esp if you are looking for a Thursday. They arent busy then anyways

Hey everyone, I'm getting married at NRC 9/19/09. We only booked the date a couple of weeks ago. I see there are lots of other September brides, too! I'm so glad they had that date available!
