There was a request for a 2010 NRC thread, so here we go!

I'm having the evening wedding June 5! When's yours?

My ceremony starts at 3 and my CH starts at 7:30. I figure by the time my ceremony is over, receiving line is finished, and pics are taken, we'll leave the church around 4-4:15. I'm probably going to go somewhere in between to take pics....Garden City Gazebo, Old Westbury Gardens, Eisenhower Park, etc. Or I might even go to my sister's house. She has a mansion in Muttontown like a mile away from NRC. We're allowed to arrive at NRC at 6, so I figure an hour to take pics in between and the rest for transportation. Then from 6-7:30, we'll take more pics at NRC.

I have a pretty big gap between church ceremony and cocktail hour, but there's not much I could do about it because of pictures...

My ceremony starts at 2pm and then we're going to Old westbury gardens for pics at 4:30. The cocktail hour starts at 7:30.

We just dropped off our second deposit and are getting more and more excited. We recently went to the tasting and OMG, it was delicious and we were stuffed! LOVE IT!!

Which vendors are you ladies using? We are deciding between Pedestals or Flowers By Burton. Photography is what we are having a hard time picking. Any tips?

Congrats! I can't wait to go for my tasting. My florist is a personal friend of mine, so I can't help you there. But I'm using Proline Studios for photography, and I actually happen to know the owner of the studio personally too. So once I realized that they were a preferred NRC vendor, there was no doubt that I was going to use them. FM me if you'd like more info.

Hello,
I am also getting married at the NRC Nadine told me that they print out one per couple or one per person whichever you prefer. They are nice. When we brought the parents to book the NRC we saw menus being placed on the tables for a wedding coming in. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Hey ladies! Did anyone do hotel blocks yet? Originally, I didn't think we were going to do it, now it seems like a good idea.

Here's my wish list from the hotel:
*Early check-in
*Free shuttle to NRC
*Free continental breakfast
*No financial obligation on our part

Am I wishing for too much??

I did my block at the Marriott Residence Inn in Plainview. I know that you can request early check-in, they do not offer a Free shuttle, I believe they have breakfast and there is, finally, no financial obligation on your part - yipee!!!!

I did my blocks at the Four Points Sheraton.

You can block up to 10 rooms per night with no obligation. Anything over 10 rooms you need to guarantee.

They have a shuttle to NRC, but it's not free. It's $425 and runs for 2 hours before the reception and 2 hours after.

Check in is at 3pm, but they can TRY to provide an earlier time. If they can't, they will hold luggage until the room is ready.

I don't believe there's a free continental breakfast, but there is the option for a brunch (at a price of course).

You also have the option to keep the bar open until 4am for $150 if you choose. Normal closing time is 2am.

Also, if you get 5 rooms booked, you can get the bridal suite at a discounted price.
