The OFFICIAL FOOTBALL WIDOW'S THREAD (UPDATE)

Original post by Goldi1021

Ok its only week one and already I cannot pry FH away from the TV or his computer (Fantasy Football Freak that he is). I cannot deal with this through January. SOMEONE STOP THE MADNESS! We still have an apartment full of boxes that need to be unpacked. I need to be held. I hate this friggin sport. And if one person tells me I should learn to like what he likes, I'll tell them what they can do with a football!

My brother is even worse than my FH. He was PISSED when he found out my wedding is the day football starts!!

OH God now Andrew is watching the Giants game, (which is his team, I root for the Jets even though I barely watch the games anymore!)

Now you guys just reminded me to check the baseball schedule for next year. If there's a Yankee or Red Sox game on the day of our wedding, it could be trouble!!!

That's it. I'm going out and getting some things done. If anyone wants to get together, let me know. (I'll leave my cell # with Leslie)

I like the Jets & my FH (and FMIL) love the Giants. It's the ONLY sports team we don't agree on.

I'm a member - Officially:) My fiancee is at the Giants game as we speak. He actually wanted to move a meeting with our church because it was going to be during a game!! I like to watch football but not three games in one day! I'll have plenty of Sunday's free until January!

One of our groomsmen is a football reporter for one of the city's papers. He couldnt come to the wedding if it were during football season.

I'm a football widow, too!

We should have a GTG during games.

I must say, today he just has the game on in the background and he is doing some painting and putting up mouldings in the house. So, I cannot complain.

I usually sleep, shop or do work while he watches games.

Oh my goodness!!! FH watches, plays, coaches, and plays PS2 football!!! And if that isn't bad enough, he plays play station on the bedroom TV and has another game blasting in the living room TV and the phone's ringing off the hook with his friends and family calling to talk about the game!!! I love him, but definitely NOT football!!!

My fiance watches EVERY freakin football game that we can possibly get on TV, plus he is in 3 Fantasy Football leagues, so he 'watches' all the games on the internet too! Plus, he is in 2 Fantasy Baseball leagues. Let me tell you, the sports madness never ends!!!

FH and I have a deal that works pretty well....he is in three fantasy leagues. Anytime he wins, he has to buy me something - usually a pair of shoes I've been eyeing - it's his gift to me for putting up with football for soooooo long (when does the season end already??).

FH is asking is it when he wins a game or the whole league. He does NOT like that deal!!!!

I'll join...FH is now wrapping up his THREE fantasty baseball teams, and has just got done picking his THREE fantasy football teams.
Labor Day weekend was spent at fantasy draft BBQs - FUN.

Thank god my friends suffer the same. One of my BMs husbands boughy the 'football package' so every Sunday (we just got home) will be spent over there. I have my girls to hang out with, and we already made plans to go shopping next Sunday while they huddle around the TV. Anyone wanna join us?

I am part of this crew too....I actually don't mind football, but his addiction is a bit out of hand. He too watches all games, belongs to fantasy leagues, plays with his friends, lives on X Box Madden....it really is an obsession and it is OUT OF CONTROL!

At least your FH was in town. MINE went to Minneapolis for his draft as the winner from last season gets to choose the location for the draft for the following season. His league is spread all over the country so I spent Labor Day Weekend alone in a new apartment unpacking. Good times!
