Is she insinuating that Meredith and George’s relationship is going to “blossom?” Ugh, I know it’s too early in the series for Meredith and Derek to live happily ever after but her and George! I just don’t foresee that happening. The only way I can maybe see that is if George gets some serious sex appeal and stops acting like some vulnerable little puppy dog and grows some you know whats! Because lets face it, we all love to be friends with puppy dogs but who wants to have sex with em’? I just don’t know if I can handle George and Meredith on Sunday nights as an “item”. I mean this has potential to ruin my life here. Nina, am I over reacting? Do you think that’s misleading on purpose?

This is from abc.com ... Its the Q and A section where Shonda Rhimes answers specific questions

Question: Why did you do that with Meredith and George? Why? WHY????!!!

Answer: First of all, I told you that characters have to do what the characters have to do. In that one moment, Meredith was weak and George was brave and…it happened. But more importantly, Meredith is the one of only a few women on television who is truly flawed. FLAWED in capital letters. Remember, this is a woman who, in the very first episode of Grey's Anatomy, picked up a guy at a bar, brought him home, slept with him and then tried to throw him out in the morning without even learning his name (his name happened to be Derek Shepherd). Her flawed nature is the thing I love most about the character. It's why I wrote the show. Meredith is all of us on our worst and best days. And, at one time or another, we've all slept with a guy friend when we knew we shouldn't (and Dad, if you are reading this, I mean 'we' in an 'every single woman on the planet but me' kind of way). You know what I'm talking about, you know you do.

And here's the thing I really would like you to remember on dark nights when you lie in bed hating my guts: In movies and most TV shows, when two friends sleep together, it's a magical start to a wonderful relationship. In life, it's quite often a hideous beginning to a very long awkward nightmare. I wanted to take a leap and keep our characters honest. Come on and leap with me, people.

I've known this was going to happen from the very first day the show started. It's where Meredith and George have been headed from the beginning. They had to have this awful moment so that they could come out the other side. Now, George can see beyond the fantasy to the reality and Meredith can see George as a man more than as a brother.

I am thinking the same thing you are.

However when she mentioned about in your dream and you do this with your best friend its a gateway to great relationship...but in reality its a nightmare. And then she goes on to talk about this will change their relationship...George gets a reality hit and Meredith sees him as a man.

I'm praying very very hard tonight to the Big Man that this means that she'll be nicer to him and they'll have a respect for each other. If they start a thing...I don't know what I'll do with myself.

I mean honestly Justine...When she was crying while they were tangoing...It was a very uncomfortable moment.. I mean...little old me..in my own private apartment...felt embarassed and uncomfortable for him...its just weird

He's a man in the sense that he's honest, sweet, good hearted.

But he is emotionally immature and has the love mentality of a 15 year old. NOO!!!!

I KNOW NINA -- I was mortified during that scene. She was like suicidal and yelling, 'George George' I mean you can slice the tension with a plastic knife.

Exactly! I mean - don't ge wrong here. I adore George - his character is essential and he cracks me up every week but him and Meredith is like LIWeddings.com partnering up with Getyourdivorceonline.com! I can see George having a great relationship with another woman just not Grey. NOT GREY ! Do you hear me SHONDA?! PLEASE YOU CANT DO THIS TO US!

Thats what I said to Mike (who is equally addicted to GA.) I said, George has to take some responsibility here. He knew it wasnt anything more than a hook up.

I really didnt' like Christina at the beginning of the show, she bugged me. And now.....I absolutely love her...absolutely love her....I wait for her funny and witty comments....she makes the show sometimes!!
