Ugh! I got an attack today while at the studio to meet with our potential photographer :( It was awful. He was waiting for me!
I also had to go TWICE during my birthday dinner lsat night while my friends were waiting for me. At one point I heard the staff singing Happy Birthday - I thought they were singing to an empty seat! Luckily I made it back in time.
That happened to me when we went to go visit the All Star Limo... We drove all the way out there and my stomach started to rumble. I thought my FH was going to kill me cause I turned to him with the 'look' on my face. He went outside with me and we walked around cause sometimes that helps. My stomach also quickly starts to bother me when I get hot in a room - not from the sun but when a room is over warm I need to fan myself.

I started taking acadopholis (sp) and it made things WORSE - my GI told me to stop taking it
That's it - really????? It made it worse??? I'm glad i didn't take it yet...though i can't imagine it being worse...i'd probably kill myself if it got worse!
Acadopholis is suppose to help regulate your bouts .... or help you go .... well not all of us have trouble going!!! I want to stop going. My doctor told me to take something called Equaloctine (CVS) over the counter. As far as I can remember it help and then I stopped taking it. I was thinking of starting it again... It is suppose to absorb any excess water in your system or maintain it. Quick Question... Do you guys think that it happens worse during certain seasons?
i've never noticed a good or bad season - i have noticed i have good or bad days - but there is never a rhyme or reason to it....
I am an 07 Bride and I feel so much better that you have a thread for this.. I was starting to think I am crazy.. I sometimes don't go for like 2 weeks and then my stomach gets all fat like I am 4 months preggo and then like on Halloween, I coudn't stop going.. and I haven't since then.. AT ALL..
My dr says Fibercon is good to take and I think I am going to take one
Ok if ANY of you aren't to the bathroom in 2 weeks then go see a doctor, and take something to help you go, its dangerous to not go for TWO WEEKS, do you really mean 2 weeks or is that an exaggeration...people can die like this and they have...i know a woman in her late 30's who had ALOT of serious problems with this and died

I have to agree.....if you haven't gone in two weeks - there may be something seriously wrong in your body & you should go to the doc or even a hospital!!!

I think there's a big difference in treatment of IBS and IBD (Crohns, Colitis, etc). Most people I know with IBS just take over-the-counter stuff and don't find it that helpful.
I have Crohns which falls under IBD, and I take prescription meds for it -- they help A LOT. Except for occasional bloating or occasional *D* I pretty much feel normal most of the time. Sometimes I wonder if I'm even sick, but then on days where I'm late with my meds or skip a dose it's obvious that i *AM* still sick...
I encourage everyone to see a gastro.... it took a lot of tests before i was diagnosed and I was really really sick... but now I feel pretty good...
I need you to remind me which meds you are on that make you feel normal. i'm seeing my gastro on Wednesday!!!
I am on Asacol, 3 pills, 3x a day.

I was sick all weekend. I am hating my life. I went to my RH for a showcase this weekend and had one slice of cake - I was so afraid to eat
We met with our photogapher/limo/flower guy and I had to use their bathroom - he had to WAIT for me. My stomach was nuts! I feel sick now thinking about it

never drank coffee - like the smell - not the taste.
I also find i have a very small bladder....anyone else have that same issue? I can drink a can of soda and have to pee within a few minutes - whereas FH can have 4 cans of soda and not have to pee for hours...

even with my meds, that's the only thing that just makes me have to GO. Way worse than alcohol. I don't think tea is as bad... I had one cup of tea this weekend when i wasn't feeling good and I was fine bathroom-wise. Coffee really does me in though, especially if it has milk in it (I think I might be somewhat lactose intolerant too).
I had 2 cups of hot chocolate on an empty stomach when I was waiting for an oil change and ....................... had to go to the bathroom after about 15 minutes.
I used to do GED tutoring in HS and we'd stop at starbucks on the way there for caramel macchiatos.... i'd have to go to the bathroom 3-4x in the one hour class. that was before i was diagnosed....

Re: **The OFFICIAL IBS THREAD**
Can anyone recommend a good gastro in Suffolk? I'm in Holtsville (out east).
I always seem to have problems with the doctors i choose My last dr was with Stonybrook Hospitals. She ran a million tests but I didn't follow up because she had absolutely no bedside manner. Plus everytime I made an apt there I ended up waiting at least 3 hours sometimes more. I can't take the whole day off for it.
Are there NO doctors with Sat hours or late hours?

make sure you actually have a hiatyl hernia, that's what i was originally misdiagnosed with before it turned out i had Crohns. They told me I never had the HH.
