Ugh! I got an attack today while at the studio to meet with our potential photographer :( It was awful. He was waiting for me!

I also had to go TWICE during my birthday dinner lsat night while my friends were waiting for me. At one point I heard the staff singing Happy Birthday - I thought they were singing to an empty seat! Luckily I made it back in time.

I am so glad i am not alone..growing up my friends thougt i made it up and thought i was a freak...i also have the anxiety induced ibs that if i know theres no bathroom i wont go there i drive myself everywhere type of thing it definitely affected my social life in HS. Luckily after living on immodium everyday for like 6 months its kind of been under control I rarely get an attack now and I kind of know my limit of what i can eat before it turns bad! I hate it and its unfair! It feels good to find people who understand although i wish none of us had to deal with this!

ok girls....question. i don`t know if i truely have IBS i have never been to a DR about it. Well once when i was younger but they told me it was stress go do some yoga. (yeahhh tell that to a 12 year old) since then things have only got worse. I know certain foods i can and cannot eat. Things i will only eat at home so i know i`ll be able to get to the potty asap. Are there any specific signs that it is IBS or do i just have a weak stomach? Help me decide if i need to make a DR visit!

In all honesty, I haven't found doctors to be much of a help -all they've told me is to eat more fiber and exercise, and then prescribed me a pill that was recalled a few months later and didn't help much anyway. You know your body best, and in time you will be able to figure out which foods don't agree with you and what you need to avoid, as you mentioned.

Re: **The OFFICIAL IBS THREAD**

I think there's a big difference in treatment of IBS and IBD (Crohns, Colitis, etc). Most people I know with IBS just take over-the-counter stuff and don't find it that helpful.

I have Crohns which falls under IBD, and I take prescription meds for it -- they help A LOT. Except for occasional bloating or occasional *D* I pretty much feel normal most of the time. Sometimes I wonder if I'm even sick, but then on days where I'm late with my meds or skip a dose it's obvious that i *AM* still sick...

I encourage everyone to see a gastro.... it took a lot of tests before i was diagnosed and I was really really sick... but now I feel pretty good...

Heres a good treat that I've discovered yesterday. I take the fat free Activia yogurt every day (it seems to help) but now I mix it with Hershey Special Dark syrup, which is fat free! OMG.

Acadopholis is suppose to help regulate your bouts .... or help you go .... well not all of us have trouble going!!! I want to stop going. My doctor told me to take something called Equaloctine (CVS) over the counter. As far as I can remember it help and then I stopped taking it. I was thinking of starting it again... It is suppose to absorb any excess water in your system or maintain it.
Quick Question... Do you guys think that it happens worse during certain seasons?
