the official I'm at work but on LIW all day because I had to come in when it is snowing thread

This is DEFINITELY the thread I belong on.

I live the furtherest away from work (I work in the city) and I was here before people who live 15 minutes away! What the EFF!

I hope to leave a little early though.

They're saying 5 - 10 inches now. Hope you get to go home early and hope that the trains keep running on or close to schedule!

i wish i will leave early but theres no way its happening...we cant leave until the market is closed and the fed is closed for the day so im here no matter what. Its not one of those things where the boss gets to say we can leave early, its what the fed decides lol

as long as the trains are running well i'll be fine, thank you.

I feel bad for FH and so worried about him driving, his car cant handle the snow, it was sliding everywhere this morning when he drove me to the train and he is missing a huge presentation he had to do, it was upstate so theres no way he can drive there

I see, you have no choice. I will hope and pray the trains stay running smoothly and hope and pray your FH gets home safe. Hopefully the roads will be plowed and won't be as bad as they are now.

I give you guys tons of credit. I cleaned my car off and had every intention of going in (I don't get paid if I don't work) but then watched the traffic channel and saw tons of accidents (plus I live 37 miles from work). So I opted to stay home. I just know it's going to get worse so I can't imagine driving 2 hours to work just to turn back around a couple hours later.
Be very careful going home!

i had absolutely no choice...i took public transportation and surprisingly it was running well. LIRR came on time well 2 minutes late so no big deal, i JUST got there when it showed up luckily. Then the mta trains were working fine, the E was less than 5 minutes delayed and the PATH trains were running well. I got to work at 8:38 so 8 minutes late. There was no excuse for me not coming in lol

I hate that I use PT to get to work. It doesn't give us an excuse!

well he went to work just not upstate, he went to the office, so he'll work on another job they have rather than go upstate. Thank you, im used to dealing with delayed trains and all that so its ok i'll manage

seriously there is no excuse lol, unless the trains dont work hahaha which rarely happens...huge delays maybe but never that they dont work.

I don't live too far but there are people that live a lot closer that came in a lot later, it pissed me off too! I'll with ya

I'm here I really hope they close the building early though because it's just getting worse.

people who live further prepare hahaha, i live in queens and work in jersey but i didnt know it was going to snow in the morning, i heard at night so i was shocked when i saw the snow. I started running around like a maniac when i saw the snow bc i didnt think i'd make the train since no cab would come get me and it would take longer to walk to the LIRR, its not the shortest walk from me, luckily fh cleaned off his car quick and got me there right on time.

Most trains are working, i know there were alot of problems with the B and 6 trains and i think the Q, so anybody taking those got screwed

im at work today
our parking lot wasn't in great shape either!!! which is soooo annoying!

i am at work b/c i left my stupid phone here yesterday..

our security guard is not here either..

i'm here at work and where i sit there is NO ONE here!!!!! So if I want to even see people i have to walk around the hall and go to the other side of my floor.

i want to leave early but i hate charging my time since i am trying to save it haha

I have to be in by 1pm today and I know tons of staff are gonna call out sick today just because of the snow

I'm hear at work...not only on LIW becuase it's snowing but because they still don't have enough work to give me yet.
