Italian Brides: How big is your guest list? Isn't it rediculous that you have invite people either your Mother or Mother in law knows that you NEVER met?

I wanna play!! My wedding is officially called 'my big fat italian wedding' by everyone in my family.
My guest list so far..is between 250-300. My BP is like 20 ppl. I love it though! haha...how about You??

OMG you sound like me. We have 300 on our list and 24 people in the bridal party because GOD FORBID you dont have 1 person from each family in there! UGH

guest list of 300 here too...but i told my mother i wont have anyone there i dont know! We also cut out the BP..im only having a MOH and FH's sister, my neice and nephew and FH's neice. My dad and I will be dancing to Figlia Mia of course

The guest list is at about 250. BP is 14 people. I'm only 1/2 Italian but my mom's side (the non-Italians) are just as insane.

Hello all!!! I am a 100% Italian Bride marrying a 100% Italian Groom...the end result, a whole lot of people involved in everything!!! Guest list is around 280 which was cut down from 300 and BP is 32 people!

We haven't even finalized the guest list Thankfully a lot of my family lives in Italy and won't come.

Haha so we're not the only ones. My family is 100% italian...my parents are off the boat! Fh is 100% too, but his family is 'Merican (that's what my dad says) He loves our italian traditions tho, so it's cool.
Guess we're all in the same boat.
Anyone else have people coming from Italy for the wedding??

Our list is at 200-250ish but is stillllll growing! It's funny because out of this amount, about 175 are from my side!
I'm 100% Italian - parents and fam fresh of the boat from Calabria - how about you girls? Wheres the family from??

We're from Casino..it's a tiny town about halfway between Rome & Naples. Both of my parents are from neighborhoods in Casino.

wow ladies! i told my mom that i REFUSE to invite all these people that i do not know. so we are gauranteeing 200. I am only having 8 people in our BP total.
i just cant see having to deal with all that.

oh i feel so much better now!! we are at 270 and its still growing... the BP is 25!! FH is 100% italian, i'm not but i guess growing up in bensonhurst has worn off on me.

I'm not Italian, but I am Russian....and we are going through the same thing! Guestlist is at 330 people right now, and it better not grow because my RH only holds 260 comfortably, any more than that and we gotta use long tables
