Oh I heard the cake was good!!!!! I really liked the way the renovations turned out, especially the stairwell! It reminds me of the Simone Carvalli Spring 09 ads... and it gave me tons of ideas for pics....

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

hi all,

Im (very) new to the site....I'll be sure to update my profile soon! Great to 'meet' all of you!

My fiance and I recentley started to look at venues and we fell in love w/ the Surf Club. Wanted to know if anyone has any current pics they'd be willing to share. The link from an earlier post is not working, it seems.

We do not have a date yet but we're aiming for a Friday nite in 2010. Based on my one visit, I really think its a beautiful venue!

Thanks!

Hi! If you check Leslie Ann's profile, I think she has some pics in there. I am getting married on a Friday in June 2010. I love the renovations and the food is amazing! Who is the BM you dealt with? Jamie is really awesome. He is my BM and he is really very knowledgeable.

If you have questions let us and know. Welcome and Congrats!

Thanks so much! Everyone is so helpful, must make the planning that much easier and fun...

Sandra, saw on an earlier post that you also like Bridgeview. Its on our top three (along w/ Surf Club and Swan Club) -- any reason why you didnt go with them, that you're willing to share?

We love the fact that its exclusive but we want to have some sort of accomodation near-by and I dont think there's anything close.

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

Hi everyone. I said I would write a review once I got some pics. Unfortunately, I have only got a few from family and friends but once I get the password for the pro pics I will post it so you all can take a look. Ok, so I will start by saying that our day was beautiful, sunny and very hot. The Surf Club did an amazing job but I did a few things which I will mention with my review. Upon arrival to the SC there was cold food like cheese and italian meats in the bridal suite. There was also beer and champagne in the fridge. The suite is the most beautiful one I had ever seen and it was very nice for us all to run to it if we needed a minute to ourselves or a private bathroom. The ceremony area is beautiful especially when it is sunnny. Many people said it was like they were at a destination wedding. We took pics on the beach before the ceremony. I can't wait to see them. The problem is there was a ton of goose poop, glass and cigarette butts all over. Honestly, this is upsetting since the SC said they were gonna clean off the beach. I mean come on they have to know that people wanted to take pics in the incrdible scenery. At that point I just wanted to get pretty pics so we all stepped in the poop, grin and beared it for the sake of good pics. We had a wonderful bridal attendant, Lauren, who was quick to get a bucket of water so we could wash our feet off. She was also our personal waitress and made sure we had all the drinks and whatever we needed. During the ceremony there were a ton of geese and plane's flying above. I guess this couldn't be helped, but it was funny. Also, there were a ton of people at the pool and my guests said some of them were looking over at the ceremony. But the thing that pissed me off the most was that there was a little boy playing and digging on the beach after I repeatedly told my DOC and BM that I didn't want anyone on the beach. Some of my guests didn't notice but I did. I know this seemed like a lot of bad stuff but honestly looking back it is what it is. Our ceremony was beautiful, we wrote our own vows (really just somethings we wanted to say to eachother infront of everyone), everyone including the groomsmen cried. My husband cried from the minute he saw me through the entire ceremony. He is such a mush. Everyone said they could feel how much we love eachother and that was our main goal. Cocktail hour was amazing. My dad even sprung for the sushi w/ chef and half raw bar, which they included an ice sculpture. People were so impressed. There were also fruit and cheese sculptures. We got to attend some of the hour but spent most of the time saying hi to our 230 guests. Our reception was fun and went way to fast. Dinner was delicious. We were able to make some changes to the menu bc we took the pasta table out of the cocktail hour. We had agnolotti as the pasta during dinner w/ an aurora cream sauce which is a lot like vodka sauce and everyone raved about it. We also got a fancier salad with walnuts, mangos, dried cranberries, poached pears and gorgonzola. For entree's I had the chicken and Scott had the prime rib and we couldn't eat a ton but what we did have was delish. My cousin had the pistachio crusted salmon and she said she loved it. For dessert we had cake, I wanted chocolate rasperry mousse an they accomadated my request. The one bite I had was also good. We wanted something else to go with the cake so my BM said they could do a gelato. It is summer so I thought this was a great idea so we chose hazelnut gelato with a biscotti. OMG this was so fabulous I ate it all. My brother said he ate the rest of everyone at his table. LOL. The waiters were attentive and were quick to get poeople there drinks. We had a kids table (if you could call them kids. 4-13 year olds and one 10 yr) and the Suf Club had kid food on hand for them. I think mini pizzas, chicken fingers and fries. I had no idea they would do this since we didn't discuss it in our final meeting. Our BM was Chris and he was awesome throughout. He was there that evening to make sure all was well. Our florist was Westchester Floral Decorators and Danny made my vision come alive. Worth every penny and the flowers were so beautiful. People were so amazed at the centerpieces. Our band was Stolen Moments and the were great. They sang a lot of different generes and stuff from all different years but kept it upbeat. They sing such current songs too. My favorite was Boom Boom Pow. The singer Miriella sounded just like Fergie. We rented linens from Weddinglinens.com and napkins from Alpersons. Our photo and video was Fantasy Flash. I have yet to see any pics but they were very nice, and on time. BUT the videographers phone went off right in the middle of my ceremony. I turned around and glared at him and I wanted to kill him. He was so apologetic. I think it is inexcusable but what are you gonna do? So I can't think of anything else right now but ask any questions you might have. Sorry this is so long.
Edit: I forgot to mention we got the lighting package and it was awesome. You can see it in some pics. Mostly it was a fuchia but it changed colord during dancing. Pics in album.
