Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

Not for a while, probably sometime after I make up my mind about my bridesmaid dress colors :)

What are your colors? I'm debating between celery and apple

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

I decided to have a black tie optional wedding, so my colors are dark:

Midnight Blue, Black, Diamond White and Silver.

We are using Ostrich and Peacock feathers, Crystals etc throughout also.

Did anyone receive a call from RP Brides saying you won the Surf Club Bridal Expo raffle? I think it's a scam and they're calling everyone who registered...

No phone call but it most likely is a scam. Don't trust those calls.

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

hey girls.. im working on a full review but i wanted to do a mini review of the surf club for this thread.. so here it goes:

so we all know i was a little upset that they opened the pool and that the fountain was not going to be ready for my wedding.. but these were non issues.. surf club was spectactularrrrrrrr

im gonna go step by step so bare with me :)

soooo upon arrival to surf club guests received champagne (which i think is a nice touch) the bridal attendant came up to me right away to introduce herself and asked me if i wanted anything.. bringing me water just b/c she knew i was prob thursty.. i spent the cocktail hour in the beautiful bridal suite where the bridal attendant kept bringing us drinks and food and whatever we asked for and needed.. our actual cocktail hour was beyond amazingggggggg.. we upgraded on some stuff and my parents got the seafood station, we had a pig, we had the chef out there carving it was awesome there was TONSSS of food.. from that moment all of our guests were absolutly stunned on how nice it was... we walked thru the cocktail hour for about 10 min and every single server/waiter/bartender you name it was sooo nice they kept saying 'congrats' to us and it made us feel so special.. going into the ballroom everything thing looked more amazing than i could ever imagine.. the flowers from danny were sooooooooo beautiful... we got the lavendar tableclothes and lavendar bows to go on the tables and chairs along with white chair covers.. this all came from the surf club and it looked gorgeous! it matched my colors perfectly! when we got to the dais they already had our favorite drinks on the table for us... the staff was amazing... the food was delicious.. the salad was amazing.. we got some pasta, it was like two triangular somethings lol i forgot but it was really good... we also got some fancy chicken (forgot the name of it), tilapia (which i had and it was soooooooo good) and the prime rib (also veryyyy good) ... people always say that they didn't get a chance to eat at the wedding but that didn't happen to us b/c our bridal attendant made sure that we sat down to eat every course!

i can go on and on but i can't even begin to tell you what an amazing day we had.. the surf club is definitlyyyyyyyyyyyy by far the bestttttttttt place for a wedding... during the wedding people were RAVING about how freaken awesome the food, view, room everything was about it.. some people said they wanted their kids to get married there! we also have had phone calls since the wedding saying how great it was

you girls have nothingggggggggggg and i mean nothingggggggg to worry about!!!!!! they do a fantastic job and im so glad i had my reception there!!!

ohh and the pool issue was a non issue.. it closes by 5pm... the cocktail hour opened at 6pm (guests dont walk out there until 6) and there was nobody around the pool area... we actually had the tiki bar and the upper deck as part of our cocktail hour (since we had 300 guests) and there was no one left over from the pool..

i posted pics on the '09 board and the BHB board if you wanna see.. here is the link:

YEahhhh!! Welcome Back!

Thanks so much for the review!! I can't wait to read the full one on the brides review (hope you do one )

Quick Question:
Did you say the surf club provided linens and if so what did they charge you?

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

i will def do a full review :)

yup surf club has linens.. they have soooooooo many different colors and types to choose from... ask for arty (i think that was his name) he was in charge of them.. they are a little on the $$$ side.. but i thought if i had 27 tables in all white it would just wash out the room.. the lavendar overlay's were just perfect!!!! i got the cheepest ones which i think were about $18 a table if im not mistaken. and then the purple bows for the chairs were like $3 or something

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

Can someone please name the surronding hotels around the Surf Club? And if you know of the quality of the service and pricing please let me know?

1) Residence Inn

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

There is Radisson and Residence Inn in downtown New Roc but they're ghetto. My guests are staying at the Renaissance Westchester in West Harrison and I also gave the option for Crowne Plaza in WP.

$109 per night at Renaissance, a little more at Crowne. Renaissance is gorgeous and really great to work with.

Ok those are the 2 I am tossed up about. I guess I can call and see who we can negoitiate with better.

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

we went with the radisson just b/c it was cheaper... yea its not as 'nice' as most hotels but guests only need it to crash for a few hours really.. lol.. and they appreciated us picking the cheaper one..

we , however, stayed at the ritz carlton in westchester... we told them it was our wedding night and they gave us an amazing suite with champagne and chocolate covered strawberrys! so def check that out

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

We used the Rye Town Hilton. It is a beautiful hotel and we worked with Barbara who is a pleasure. The rate was $139 and they gave us our room complimentary. They were great at giving out the oot boxes we made and there is an area where the shuttles came and picked up our guests. When we got back after the wedding we hung out at the bar until it closed. There were a few other wedding there as well. It was so much fun. Barbara also left choc strawberries and champagne in our room. We also had a breakfast in the morning. It was yummy. I highly recommend.

Did these places provide shuttle service?

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

is anyone going to the bridal show on the 16th?

has the surf club been pushing top notch on you guys? every time our BM calls us he really pressures us to book with top notch, it really annoys me and i think its weird.

last question - are any of you (or did any of you) put out menus at the table? i think they're a nice touch, but maybe an unnecessary expense. just wondering what you guys were doing.

thanks :)
Sandradv121 Posted:

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

No Top Notch here! We are not sure yet about the menus, only b.c we have to do a special sheet explaning our donation... it may be too much...

stefandken Posted:

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

we made our own menus for the table.... but we had to get the exact wording of the foods from surf club before we did it.. so make sure you do that....surf club also has some that you can purchase..

pipermaru Posted:

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

is anyone doing table linens? are you going through the surf club or somewhere else?

Sandradv121 Posted:

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

I think I may get them through the Surf Club.

scottslove Posted:

Re: ****The Official Surf Club Thread****

I ordered tablecloths through weddinglinens.com and naplins through Alpersons.
