Hey Girls!
I noticed there were tons of questions flying around about the Surf Club in New Rochelle, so lets all help each other!

Im not sure if Im a fan of the fountian...I dont think I was expecting it to have sculptures all over it I think I had in my head a pretty design w water and lights...

Haha I didn't want ot say it but I agree. It's almost menacing with the huge creepy scultures. I, too, was expecting a nice pretty regular fountain that lit up at night... totally not that.

I'll take pics on Sunday and share with you girls in case you haven't seen it.

well I only saw it at night..and it wasnt done being set up so I shouldnt be so critical. Honestly I didnt get a good look there was a wedding going on so I didnt wanna sit there and stalk SC! :) Are they naked like Michaelangelo sort of figures? That wouldnt shock me to be honest bc whenever I have been there the Italian comments/fake accents and the cost of what everything is always some how comes out in convo...

I've had the same experience with Carlo as well... I thought it was just me! I called him this week to see if there were any availabilities for a holiday party for my mom and he was short with me and pretty much said no and hung up. I was quite surprised. Luckily, he is primarily works in a sales capacity and it seems they have other people that help you plan for your day, like Artie.

Artie is super helpful. Last Friday I met with him to discuss linens and table setups and this Sunday we're meeting again so he can show me how the tables could look with linens from the manufacturers. He knows I'm looking into other rentals as their linen prices are a bit pricey but still helpful anyway. And I am asking for a lot of help :)

Haven't gotten to the food planning yet. SO excited for that!

The fountain is interesting, to say the least. The gravel is still not complete.

pipermaru, unfortunately I dont know who coordinates the ceremony.

Now I'm getting so nervous! Should I meet with Artie too? We're using their regular linens... did you go over anything else with him?

Sorry for the wait..but here are the pictures of the fountain. Mind you I took them from my cell phone and was trying to sneak them because they had a bunch of guys working on it. It is big, but I wouldn't say it is an eye sore. It will look nicer when it is lit up and filled with water.

For girls that had their ceremony and reception at SC...

how early did they let you arrive to take pictures? our invitation time is 5:30 and carlo claims we can come at 3 but I think he's a big fat about everything now and i'm freaking out...

that fountain is kinda of funny...

When we went it looks like the guys were drowning the horses (I love horses... so I was like AHHHHHHH what the hell??!!! thats not cute!) And you can see the top guy from down the road. Its very very very trevi (sp?) fountain-esq. Maybe once the water is in and its lite up it won't be soooo flambouent...

ABout the ceremony, we are leaving long island at 2 pm the day of the wedding, with hopes to take pictures well before 6PM ( our invite time, and our ceremony starts at 6:30). We were told we can take pictures well before the ceremony... so I think you may be able to do it at 3pm... but call and ask...

Whose getting the Kinetic Lighting? That a lot for something they already have installed in the room!

Yes, I don't really like the brown linens for a Summer Wedding.

I think I need to bring our DJ friend up there to scope out the place and let me know what his price for lighting is b/c you are so right; its a lot for lighting.

BTW, quick question:
Were they suppose to pave the driveway? I hope they do...

i was there on sat to meet with arty about linens and lighting....

sandra they DONT let you bring your own lighting person in!!!!! such BS!

and when we were there they were laying down bricks for the driveway, which looked nice. the fountain is a beast.

is anyone using an outside source for linens? do they let you? i really want them but the ones i want they charge $35/table and i can get them elsewhere for $10/table...

FH checked the contract and there is nothing saying that we must use their uplighting. We booked with them prior to that. I will have him call tomorrow and speak to our banquet manager.

So if anything, if its not in the contract, than I think you can out source (the only one is florist that are in the contract). check with the banquet manager.

Ok I just got married and I have to say that you ladies have NOTHING to worry about

The Food was beyond Amazing. I had my family from Italy and my husband's family from Croatia who btw have their own rest say the food was amazing.
Tony the chef is really amazing! I cant tell you how much I was pleased with the food.

My family is Sicilian and he really had a Sicilian feast for us! He even had put cactus fruit in the VH which i had so many people say where did he get that from!!! Tony is truly the best!!

I also had my dad's cuz who got married at The Plaza Hotel tell us that the food, wine, and service was amazing!!

The Service:
Chris was our MD and Lauren(I think that was her name)Bridal Attend, really great nothing but top noch service!

The only problem which isnt the Surf Club fault is that I had personalized car air freshers done in which the valet decided to put in certain people's cars two, and the majority of the guests got none. I was the only event at the Surf Club so there are no excuses on this.

other than that everything was Above & Beyond our families expectations.

I cant wait to get my pro pictures back in which I will write a full review!!

Wow good review. I can't wait to see pics and can't wait for my wedding too!!!

As for the lighting, Carlo said they can't out source it b/c it messes up their built in light system. We need to get those lights down $$$!!

hey girls... sorry its taking so long to do the review... i have written it but i havn't gotten a chance to put the pics in it yet... my computer is broken and all i have been using is my schools computer which i dont wanna use to post a review... so it'll be up as soon as i finish it :)
