The 'right' purple?

Original post by kerryums

Has anyone seen, in person, any designer that makes BM dresses (preferably chiffon) in a greyish purple? I don't mind if it's a darker grey-purple, or a more of a greyed-out pastel, but I really want a purple that looks dusty or vintage. I keep finding ones that look like they may be good online, but I feel like the online images are deceptive, and I don't want to run all over the place looking for a certain color without any clues of who might have one!

Anyone noticed any in their travels? TIA!

Jim Hjelm Opal
Looking for the same thing Jim hjelm carries this color which i think is what your looking for

This looks good but it looks like they don't do it in chiffon! Doh.

And the Bill Levkoff Euro looks good but I really don't like satin. If I can get my butt moving today I am going to try to scout out the Belsoie and the Bari Jay... and I guess also just to check about the BL chiffon.... I hope they have this color in the store!

is anyone worried about their purple bridesmaids dresses coming out blue or black in photos??? i am thinking about royal purple/grape for the bridesmaids and lavender/lilac for the bm&moh. am so worried about the royal purple...esp since its my favorite color.
is this bc of the material or the color?!

Just checked out some colors--- Bari Jay wysteria and BL Victorian Lilac are both pretty greyish IMO. They're not quite pastel and not quite jewel tone, they definitely have a vintagey feel I think.

As an aside, I went to wedding center in commack to look... avoid them if you can, they were so nasty to me....

Try Belsoie. They have a large color selection. You will probably have to go to a bridal salon and look at swatches to really tell. I had a very hard time online, I couldn't decide until I saw an actual swatch.

I have seen the first dress in person. It is so cute.

Definitely - the colors are so different on line compared to in person. I went crazy with the Belosoie colors. The dress I loved didn't come in a color that I liked - but they will do any of their dresses in any of their fabrics/colors for a $30 up charge.
