The Sands at Atlantic Beach/The Coral House
Hi Brides!Congrats to all, what an exciting time! Hopefully not to stressful. The sands at atlantic beach and the coral house are my top two venues simply because of their pricing at the moment. Was curious to see if anyone has gotten married there in the last 3 years or has been to a wedding there recently?
Any information would be helpful. Neither of these venues were on my original list but after realizing we don't wanna break that bank for just one evening we just want simple, fun and a good time had by all we were hoping to get opinions.
The Sands actually has an all inclusive package that I am considering all though the package comes with a DJ and I really wanted a band... & im not sure who they use as a photographer

FH's cousin actually is a Maitre D at The Coral House and she said it was known to have a bad reputation but it has gotten considerably better the past couple of years. I say just go check it out for yourself and you be the judge despite what you may have heard. I was considering it the pictures of the rooms look really nice online. Goodluck!

Congrats! We looked at the Sands at Lido Beach and weren't that big of a fan, it felt more like a sweet 16 place. But I've heard the sands atlantic beach is much better and I've also heard the Coral House the past few years has gotten much better!

I believe the Coral House is under new management now. I was never there for a wedding but I did visit the venue and the rooms are very pretty. Just curious though is it only pricing that's making you chose those venues? What is your budget? Maybe we can suggest others for you. I found Riviera at Massapequa to be very reasonably priced and if you're willing to do a winter date its discounted at almost all of the venues.

Re: The Sands at Atlantic Beach/The Coral House
The pricing is a huge help in leaning me in the direction I am going because I really don't think theres a need to spend $30,000 or up on one evening. I don't have a per say budget but I would definitely like to stay $25,000 and under. I have a friend who had her wedding at the Coral house 3 years ago had 100 guests upgraded her cake and bought her own centerpieces (this price is also including her dress) she did the whole thing for $13,000. The wedding was beautiful. Riviera has yet to call me back I called them yesterday morning so that's bit of a turn off because they receptionist told me the banquet manager was in a meeting and would be out shortly...I am absolutely not willing to budge for a winter wedding LOL! Winter to me, is the devil. Its cold, uncomfortable and you never know about snow - it's just not an ideal season. I really wanted june but if I had to switch to say September I guess I could do that.

I've found that September and June are generally the priciest months. Some places start June as their prime season and go through September, some go May and end in October, it depends on the venue. You might be able to get cheaper pricing even just going to May or April. There's tons of places you can get for under $25,000. What part of the island are you trying to stay in?

I live in Rockaway Beach but to me it doesn't matter. I have a brother who lives in Huntington and one who lives in Hampton Bays so I am very familiar with all parts of Long Island... a specific area doesn't matter. I called 10 venues so far and for a june/july 2016 wedding most places make me gaurentee 150 guests (which is my whole current guest list) and others just told me their starting price was $150 for Friday and $180-$199 for Saturday. These 2 venues charged $85 for Friday and $95 for Saturday which were much more my speed. One place I wouldn't have chosen even if the price was good was the Sand Castle the guy who spoke with me was BEYOND rude.. crossed him off within seconds of our conversation. He actually told me to go redo my guest list because there is no way I only have 150 people

I would try the Bayview House at Captain Bills in Bayshore. summer weddings are beautiful there and I had a friend who had a small wedding there and she said her per person price was under 100 (i think closer to 65 back in 2011)

I'm surprised they didn't get back to you yet. Could be because it was the weekend. I would try during the week maybe? Also I've heard the Watermill and the lessings properties are very reasonable priced as well. They were just too far for me. Good luck!

There are a bunch of places that offer all inclusive wedding packages! A lot of lessings places do, so I would suggest looking them up :)

I've also heard bad reviews on Sands. I was invited to a wedding there last year but never ended up going. My friends told me the food was terrible and the staff was beyond unorganized. I don't know Coral House, but i would definitely stay away from Sands.I am sorry to hear about your Sand Castle experience. We are getting married there and they have been nothing but nice and accommodating to us. Good Luck girl, and Congrats!!!1

Re: The Sands at Atlantic Beach/The Coral House
Try the Riviera again. I booked with them yesterday. They were so nice, and very accommodating to us. I spent weeks researching and visited 6 venues last weekend. I was expecting to hate the Riviera, but they give you SO much for your money. I found no other place that did as much, for the great price, on the water, in the summer, on Long Island. We are also trying to stay around 120-130 guests, the minimum the Riviera gave us was 80 people. My second choice was the West Sayville Mansion. The manager was so wonderful, the price is unreal, the place is so nice and on the water.
Also, we are doing a Thursday evening wedding and saving a ton of money by doing it then. We are doing the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend, so people have a 4 day weekend

i went for a baby shower at the coral house 2 years ago and it is very beautiful inside. The food was however just so so and I really dislike the fact that they are located at a busy intersection and the parking lot is across the street. But if that doesn't bother you I say check it out and you can haggle with them a little with their pricing. hope that helps!Welcome New Vendors
