Clearly I am a “newbie” since this is only my second post but I figured where else to ask for some advice than here… The FH has been WONDERFUL for the past 3 weeks, we’ve seen close to 20 different Venues/RH and are looking forward to putting a cap on our search and simply go back and weigh the pros/cons of each. We’re not too picky, we just want to make sure we visit every possible location before making our final decision. Here’s the list of places that we’ve seen so far… I really hope I haven’t missed any but if your suggestions jog my memory I will be sure to let you know =)
Westchester/Upstate Area:
Abigail Kirsch At Tappan Hill Glen Island Harbour Club The Fountainhead The Riverview Westchester Manor Bear Mountain Inn Beckwith Pointe Castle on the Hudson Lyndhurt Castle
Long Island:
Watermill Villa Lombardis Flowerfield Land’s End The Venetian Yacht Club The Crestwood Manor Larkfield Manor Huntington Harbor Club Mill Ridge Inn Garden City Hotel Fox Hollow East Wind
Coming this week:
Oheka Castle Chateau La Mer Bridgeview Yacht Club Allegria Hotel Majestic Gardens Cold Spring Harbor Country Club Westbury Manor
Any other Must-See suggestions before we put a cap on our list and finally pick?!
To help narrow the list down… The things that we are looking for:
*GREAT FOOD! *One Wedding at a time. We understand that another “event” might be going on but if we can help having another bride in her suite next door to ours that would be steller ;) *Décor that does not need extra help to it (If we can refrain from adding extra lighting simply to pin-spot centerpieces or up-light the walls that would be ideal)
Also! If anyone is interested in what we thought the pros/cons were of each of these places let me know, we took great notes :P
Thanks ladies! <3!!!

Wow that looks gorgeous! if you don't mine me asking what was the minimum that they gave you?
My only concern is that we're inviting 140 guests and most places have that as their minimum :/

Re: The Search for the Perfect Location Continues...
First off i woud like to say Welcome and Congrats!!!! You definatly have a pretty big list and it looks like a lot of research has gone into your RH search!! All the places you are looking at are amazing!!!
I must say though.. with your invite list... Chateau La Mer can definatly work with you,.. of course i am a little partial to the place b.c that is my venue... but they do have more than one event at a time.. what i can tell you though is that your bridal sutie would not be right next to the other brides suite. They have an upstairs room (with your invite amount that is probably goign to be the room they show you) and the food is AMAZING!!! FH is Italian and food was extemely important to him and his family and everyone loved it! Also they are quite affordable even during prime wedding season...
Im not trying to rave abt CLM just trying to let you know to keep your options open when it comes to deciding wether or not to take a place based on wether they have one wedding at a time or not...
I wish you the best of luck and welcome again to the addiction!!!!!

Hey Bride to Be,
Are you talking about the Royalton in NYC? Because you're totally right! The food IS phenomenal there!!!
I think that we are trying to stay away from the city though, only because everything seems to be so much more expensive there :(
Thanks again!

We're going there Wednesday so I will definitely let you know how it goes... I heard that depending on the manager you initially speak with the contract prices can waver... Any recommendations as to who we should sit with?

Yeah I was debating about that one too!!! Abigail Kirsch has AMAZING food so we know that we can't go wrong with having them as our caterers, the only down side to Tappan Hill was that the space itself (of the mansion) was a little awkwardly positioned, the cocktail room had a strange, but cool, zig-zag shape to it.
And we also want our guests to be 'wow-ed' with each section of part of the wedding and if the ceremony were to be indoors we would switch rooms and come back to the same one for the reception portion... If we fell in love with the place it would be worth it but the cocktail room kind of did it for us :/
I hope the BG is more spacious :)

Definalty try to see Nick, He is the owner of the place and can work with you a little better than Lou can. FH and i met with Lou twice and he was very nice but he has a tendancy of forgetting who you are... i think its a little funny.. but when FH and i went to the bridal extravaganza a couple of months ago we saw Nick there and since we had never met with him i never thought in a million years he would know who we were... but i was wrong. We told him our date and he new my first and last name with out having to tell him... If we had any doubts about our decision.. they were all washed away after that!
Im pretty sure the pricing is the same either way.... they have a print out with the pricing for the year.. and they are just SOOO affordable for everything they offer! If you get married from May to October you even come into your cocktail hour on a boat...
if you have any more questions feel free to ask i get soo excited talking about them as you can see from my responses

Totally agree about Nick at CLM...he is FABULOUS! But just an FYI...he is not the owner. George is the owner and is equally fabulous. We LOVED having our wedding there!
