Had never heard of this place until a few minutes ago when I saw someone post they are getting married there. Does anyone have any feedback on them? I checked out there site, it looks very nice and the price is very reasonable.
Thank you

Re: The Sterling
I've never been there but I do know they have an inclusive package
We had my Mom's 65th B-day there... We had a pretty big guest list and they were accommodating. I think its a nice place for the money. The rooms are darker and a bit older looking. But you should go see it, best way to know!

Re: The Sterling
the food is good, the grounds are nice, the lobby is gorgeous.... the rooms are a little '80's' looking...
a student of mine had her sweet 16 there in 2009. there was a lot of issues at her party (the irony- it happened at my wedding too)
they had a 'big firework display' when they brought in her sundae bar... but it was really 'un-rehearsed'.. she didn't even know they were going to do it and she said she was embarrassed by it. which made me nervous because verdi's stressed how awesome theirs was... granted they were right. the VH was the best part of my wedding.
but the worst part was that they had another party going on in another room, that one ended about an hour prior to hers. DH and I accidentally walked into that party, because there was noone telling guests what room to go to, and no signs anywhere. well when that party ended, a bunch of drunken party-goers decided to crash my students party and cause a scene. we all got involved. yelling at them, trying to get them out. next thing you know, one of the males punched my students brother (who was on crutches), and well... there was a fight, that was moved into the lobby... police were called, the fire department was there, and the fight continued. the sterling did nothing about it, they didn't apologize for anything and tried to get my students parents to pay any legal fees, if any should arise. they should have had people in the lobby directing the other party out of the building.
same thing happened at my wedding. they actually OPENED the door to my room and let another bride into my reception. lucky for her, I was held back by my brother and his friend, but my dancers all verbally assaulted her when i couldn't.
I hate to be a debby-downer, but I don't want what happened to us to happen to anyone else.

Re: The Sterling
omg we had our engagement party there.. we went there for my cousins e.party 2 years before and it was amazing we had such a good time.
Well we figured wed have the same experience. For some reason we decided to taste test and it was horrible. My families italian and the 'chicken francese' they gave us looked like grilled chicken with gravey on top. Lets not even talk about the rest of the 'italian food'. I asked for chicken fingers and thankfully half of the guests ate them too and loved them lol... ((We had already sent out the invites or we would have cancelled. )) We used the biggest room they had and had candy display and i found other people from the wedding next door coming over and stealing our candy.. are you kidding??? the dj did not play any songs we asked
