So like what most people do we are not inviting people with guests unless they are in serious relationships or if they are married blah blah
My sister (MOH) cannot believe I am not inviting her with a guest. She is almost in tears everytime it comes up.
She is 22 has never had a relationship and dates a different guy every week and tells me she can 'find' a date for the wedding. I say oh ok like I want some random guy from your gym at my wedding. I told her if she has a BF for a while by then he can come obviously.
I told her she will be to occupied to just bring anyone and that guy will just feel awkward.
My grandma thinks I am wrong and that she is the MOH and she needs someone to 'dance with'
Am I completely wrong?

Re: the whole 'with guest' dilema
I would what ever you feel is right. You do have a while before your invites go out. Maybe she'll find someone more 'steady' by then and maybe you'll change your mind.
Anyone in my bridal party who does not have a significant other weather be long time girl/boy friend or spouse is not being invited with a guest. Even if it is my sister.
We really don't have the extra $$ to accommodate them all. There are many single people in our bridal party. and that would tack on another $1000. Besides, we've gone to many functions where we were invited with out guests and still had a blast! There was no need for us to worry about entertaining/staying with our guests.
If you think about it, traditionally, the bridal party sits with the bride and groom with out guests. We're not doing it this way, but traditionally speaking then where would their guests sit? By themselves at a random table.

well we are inviting a lot of our single friends with guests, but regardless, i would definitely invite my moh with a guest i mean if she want one i dont see the big deal its also your sister so if i was in her shoes i would expect to be allowed tobring someone.... jmo though
ITA. I am inviting everyone with a guest but if I wasn't I would still give my MOH the option out of respect, especially if she has made a big deal of wanting to bring a guest.

Re: the whole 'with guest' dilema
we're inviting everyone with a guest, but then again we are the last group of our friends to get married. with the exception of 2 of my cousins, who will have a +1. I have never been invited to a wedding without a guest.
if my brother had told me that I couldn't bring FH to his wedding (we were only dating a few months when he got married) there would have been problems.

We didn't invite anyone with a guest unless they were already in a relationship. But for my MOH (also my sister) I made an exception. She brought a really nice guy, he got along with the whole family, and he held my mom's digital camera and sat in the front row to take really good ceremony pics.

Re: the whole 'with guest' dilema
Luckily, all my cousins are married or engaged or in very serious relationships (my cousin's gf is having a baby this month yeyyyy!!) so I don't have to worry about this. As for FH's side, we are going to give them a maximum number of guests to invite and so they can make the decision of whether or not they want to invite people 'with guest.' Since my parents are paying for it, it makes it easier to just give them a maximum number and let them make any decisions of WHO they will invite.

i def dont think that everyone should get a +1 but the bridal party (especially a sibbling in the bp) IMO should be an exception.
ita..i mean it sux that it will prob be some random guy but it seems only fair to let her bring a guest if she wants

i agree with rita. you dont want to bring someone just to bring someone for a few reasons. 1- they dont knwo anyone and its your sister so i'm sure she will be all over the place at the wedding and he'll just be sitting there or she will have to babysit him so he isnt uncomfortable 2-if he has no meaning in her life and he's just being brought to have a date then its not worth the extra money you have to pay for his plate
i agree that if she has a bf at the time then invite him then
Exactly what I would've said.

i think you are right and completely agree with you BUT...hearing how upset shes getting makes me feel like you should give her the option of a guest
