The Woodlands

Went to see it last night and I am in love. No more looking at venues. It really had everything I wanted and have been looking for. It's personal and homey. It was very elegant and the food looked amazing. My appointment was at 6 right before a wedding was scheduled to start at 7 I'm assuming but the bridal party was already there. It bothered me a little that they show the place while another bride is there but I'm glad I got to see it set up. Definitely made a difference. I probably would not have like it as much if it wast set up. I'm really glad I kept looking. I'm in love ????

The Woodlands - Long Island Weddings

it is beautiful there- my cousin was married here in october and the food was delicious, and everything was just great overall. She had close to 250 people though, so I did feel that it was a little cramped. Our table was right next to the dance floor and we were able to see everything (first dance, father/daughter, cak cutting, etc.) but I know a few family members were in the back and they said they were annoyed that they had to get up to see the dances because of the way the ballroom was set up. There will always be those few tables at any wedding though, and I think they just had too many people at their wedding haha

I am planning a wedding for 250 as well. Do you think it was really tight? They say it can hold up to 288 comfortably.

I also really liked the milleridge but didn't like how close the rooms were together. Like it was one big room separated partially. I don't know something was off about it. But it too was beautiful. I don't care for the entrance but its still a contender. .

We loved the Woodlands too! It was our first choice for a while but ended up going with The Royalton.

We loved the ballroom at The Royalton. FH really hates carpet and The Royalton has all wood floors. He was willing to overlook that at the Woodlands because everything else was beautiful.Plus at the Woodlands we felt the room was oddly shaped. As someone mentioned above the people in the back wouldn't be able to see the dance floor that great. Plus we saw it set-up for a wedding and there was a lot of wasted space (towards the cocktail area) that I felt was awkward. The BM said that we could set-up a lounge but that wasn't something we wanted. We loved at The Royalton that the menu is 100% customizable. You tell them what you want and they will make it.

It wasn't TOO bad- they spaced out the tables well so that we weren't on top of each other. The dance floor was tight though. It was mainly the sight issue for the tables in the back more than anything. If that's the only problem for the ballroom, it's really not that bad.

Also important to keep in mind, we ate no food at cocktail hour because we had no room to sit at all. It was really cramped in there and I couldn't make a plate and find a space to eat it lol. However, we saw the outside patio area from the window and it was gorgeous, and it seemed like there was alot of space and would have fixed the space issue inside. But it was too cold to eat out there at my cousin's wedding, so we unfortunately all had to stand inside. Since you're planning a July wedding, I don't think cocktail hour space will be an issue because everyone can utilize the space outside!

So overall, cocktail hour you will be totally fine, and for the reception the space is pretty good. Only problems were dance floor space, the tables in the back can't see, and the tables in the back on the bar side of the ballroom seemed like they were too close to the crowds at the bar

I didn't like that either actually, but when I went for a showcase I loved that the partition wall wasn't there and it looked so much bigger. What made my decision about the milleridge was that the dance floor was huge and it was all hardwood floors and no carpet :)

Awesome! Congrats! Obviously, I think you're making an awesome decision. People are still telling us our wedding was the best they've ever been to.
