The Woodlands or Glen Cove Mansion

The Woodlands or Glen Cove Mansion

Is the food outstanding at either of these locations? They are both beautiful but I'm worried about not having great food on my big day. I don't want a catering hall style feel. Help!

The Woodlands!! The food is so good! If you want you can check out the restaurant they have on the top floor. It seems like you can really customize your cocktail hour and dinner choices!

I looked at the GCM as well. I really liked that it had a hotel. Although it is beautiful there, I liked the feel of the Woodlands looking out onto the golf course much better!

Thanks for your reply. I heard that the restaurant at the Woodlands does not share the same kitchen as the catering hall so I was a little nervous that the food quality would not be the same.

I have never had the food at Glen Cove Mansion but the food at The Woodlands is FABULOUS!!! We looked there but it was kind of high for our price range. You can go to the restaurant and usually the Banquet Manager will give you a $25 gift certificate towards the dinner. Good Luck!

I am probably a little biased since I'm booked at The Woodlands but the food there really is AMAZING! My FH's brother and sister-in-law had their reception there about 3 years ago and the food was delicious. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was sooo good. The ambiance is so beautiful there and you really can't go wrong with the food.

I also might be biased since I will be having my wedding at The Woodlands but also a girl I work with was married there and said her guests LOVED the food.

I liked GCM but didn't love it. ALso, I've never heard the restaurant isn't tied into the catering part at the Woodlands - who told you that?? It's one place so that would be odd. I looked at both places and heard such amazing things about the food at the Woodlands from LIW brides, plus I didn't love the ballroom at the GCM. The Woodlands to me felt so much more classy, yet personal and cozy. That's why we went with it.

The woman I met with there said that there are two different kitchens. One for the catering hall and the other for the restaurant. They do share the same executive chef. Also the executive chef has changed. If you went to a wedding there a couple years ago, it is probably not the same chef. The very famous chef Tom Schaudel used to be associated with them but he is not any longer. Anyone have a recent wedding there and love it? Thanks so much. I'm really nervous.

i am biased of course. my mom ate at the restaurant and loved it. they told me that the menus are different but since its the same exec. chef, the palates are the same.

I have heard great things about GCM. However, when we looked there, they layout of the ballroom wasn't for me. I ahve never been to woodlands, but the reviews on here look great.

our wedding was at the woodlands and it was awesome! the food there is excellent. when we went for our tasting, i was so happy with everything...and i was sad i wasn't going to be a guest myself! i can't say enough good things about them.

we looked at gcm as well, and i really liked that they had a hotel there, but that was sort of about it. we didn't really like the shape of the ballroom. it also turned out to be too small for our wedding.

We visited both places and they are both lovely. My one concern about GCM was that if you have more than 200 people - some of the guests are seated in the outer rooms.
