The Woodlands/Royalton

Hi All. I am new to LI Weddings and I must say, this site is incredible and everyone is so helpful. Speaking of help, I was curious if anyone is currently booked at either The Woodlands or The Royalton? I am curious about pricing during peak season of for 2010? I had visited the Woodlands and thought it was a great place for a smaller wedding!

I'm booked at The Royalton, but I have no idea of 2010 prices!!! I would just call and see if they can give you any info over the phone. It's worth a visit to check it out, we fell in love!!! It was the last place we looked after about a dozen places. Good luck!

Thanks for letting me know!! I actually just booked an appt for the Royalton! I was told some pricing over the phone, but was looking to see which vendors may be more willing to negotiate. I'm hearing that due to the economy, prices are being lowered.

Those were our final 2 choices. I loved the Woodlands but decided against it because I felt it was kinda dark. We chose the Royalton because we liked how it was white and bright and could transform it with flowers and linens. We did a tasting at the Royalton and were blown away! The food is phenomenal and anytime I mention the Royalton to someone, they rave about the food. I also liked how we could customize everything and could stay there overnight with our own butler.
We found the prices to be pretty close for an October 2009 wedding.
Good luck in your choice!! They're both beautiful places.

Definitely negotiate!! I negotiated every vendor and nobody even flinched. They said ok so fast. Don't be scared.

Thanks for the info! I agree, the Woodlands has that dark oak tone about it, which typically comes with mansions. I agree, thats probably the only bad thing I could day about it. Can't wait to see the Royalton! Thanks!

The Woodlands is gorgeous but I wanted to do a lot of browns and golds and I felt like it would just get lost in the decor. It's lovely though. It was a tough choice.

The Royalton. I'll be married almost a year and people are still talking about my wedding.

FM me for my pro proofs online if that will help.

i booked the woodlands! I lovvvveee it and the food is amazing!

for a saturday night in april the price is $150 pp with a 175 person gurantee. Saturday night in May is $160 pp with the same guarantee.

i didn't get prices for june but i would assume they are close to the prices above but maybe a little higher.

Hi - I looked at both and was quoted $140/pp at the Woodlands, for a late April wedding in 2010 (peak pricing does apply then), and $185/pp at the Royalton for the same date. Neither includes service charge or tax. I thought there were advantages and disadvantages to both, but both are a nice place to have a wedding! Let me know if you want more info

I'm getting married at the Woodlands this June and we are doing a Friday night wedding $150pp (includes tax and gratuity). Love it there. I've heard the food is amazing. Never been to the Royalton but have heard nice things on here about it. For me, since it's an evening wedding, I loved the idea of candlelight, fireplace, cozy charm of the mansion. I think it's just how you feel inside the place. Do a search on here for both under the Brides Review so you can see pics of the places all done up for a wedding. Good luck with the planning.

Ahhh that was the question for me.. I loved the Royalton, FH loved the woodlands. And in the end...we chose the Woodlands. From what I can recall we got better pricing from the Woodlands than The Royalton.
Woodlands peak season is July - October
Friday nite $125/ Saturday nite $160/ Saturday aftenoon $110/ Sunday $130 - but I got these back in October.
I am happy to be a Woodlands Bride - and when you get married in the summer, it's not so dark in there. Good luck and best wishes!

those were our 2 final choices. we went with the royalton b/c it was more us. i wanted a ballroom w/o carpet and i thought the bathrooms were too far away in the woodlands (for the oldies)
not sure about the pricing though, i booked it awhile ago

Re: The Woodlands/Royalton

Hi Everyone! I am new to LI Weddings as well and have been having such a good time reading all the great advice everyone has to offer. I just booked at The Woodlands last weekend so figured now would be a good time to offer some help of my own. I looked at both places and loved each in their own way, however, The Woodlands had been my top choice even before getting engaged. I had been there for a wedding a few years ago and completely fell in love! The Royalton is goregous but when it came down to it The Woodlands just gave me that same feeling when I went back to look at it and I simply knew it was 'the place'. I don't remember my quote at The Royalton exactly but I do know it was slightly higher than the price we ended up getting at The Woodlands. If you have any other questions let me know.

We booked at the Woodlands immediately as I fell in love with it! (so did my fiance). The prices were also better for us at The Woodlands.

we are checking out the woodlands either tomorrow or sunday, I only hear great things about them. I went to the royalton, i thought it was beautiful, but I didn't get that comfy, homey, welcoming feel. I felt that the BM was rushing me, and I was just another 'shopper'. I also did not like that you have to use some of there vendors????? Why?

Re: The Woodlands/Royalton

I'm surprised anyone could go to the Royalton and not think its homey and comfy, its a true home with bedrooms and mahogany panels. The Woodlands has beautifull grounds and foyer, but I didn't like the ballroom at all. A very small dance floor, oval tables, and too long and narrow of a room.

Re: The Woodlands/Royalton

After a close toss up between the Royalton and the Woodlands, I booked the Woodlands and am happy with that decision. However, my dream RH would have the long drive, foyer, and gounds of the Woodlands - with the Royalton's ballroom! No place is perfect I guess but they are both gorgeous venues. In 2009, the Royalton quoted me $20 more pp on a Sat night in April. HTH.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my post. I really appreciate the input - now that I visited the Royalton, I'm so torn between the two. I'll keep you posted on the decision.

Thanks again :)
