Hi All. I am new to LI Weddings and I must say, this site is incredible and everyone is so helpful. Speaking of help, I was curious if anyone is currently booked at either The Woodlands or The Royalton? I am curious about pricing during peak season of for 2010? I had visited the Woodlands and thought it was a great place for a smaller wedding!

i haven't written a review yet, but our wedding at the Woodlands was amazing! And the dance floor did not feel small at all and our final count was 292! GL to everyone.

Re: The Woodlands/Royalton
I looked at the woodlands not the royalton. I believe i was quoted 125 for a Fri night in Sept.
It was a BEAUTIFUL place but i wasn't a huge fan of the ballroom itself. AND (which is just me being weird).. when we were in the ballroom i looked outside and a black cat walked right by the window where the head table would have been!
So i took it as a sign lol. Stupid i know but who knows!!!

Re: The Woodlands/Royalton
I booked the Woodlands, $145 for a Saturday night in May. We just had our tasting and we were blown away. I was looking for that mansion dark oak feel and am so excited I found it.
I think the Royalton is amazing. IMO it is best for those who are getting married onsite. You get the place for the entire day so if you can take advantage of it, I think it justifies the higher cost. For us, we are getting married at a church that is not close so I felt like i couldn't justify the extra when you added that $40 extra pp + grat and tax.

So...although the Royalton blew me away, I booked with the Woodlands and I am very happy with my decision. I feel the same....I could not justify the hight cost of the Royalton (since we are paying for this wedding ourselves) when I would not be able to utalize everything they offer. I will be having the ceremony in a church. For those who wish to be married on location--the Royalton is worth EVERY penny. You can have full use of the mansion, starting the night before your wedding--its that amazing. However, I didn't like how the Royalton had only one garden area for pictures, where as the Wodlands has acres of gold course and a selection of garden areas.
Thanks again to everyone for their input--it was really helpful!
