Is anyone doing a themed wedding or been to one. If so, what was the theme & was it nice or cheesy?

Re: Themed Weddings?
I'm doing a Venetian masked ball theme, and I'm hoping it will be nice and not cheesy!
I've never been to a theme wedding before, so I'm not sure what they're supposed to be like. We're making it up as we go.

Re: Themed Weddings?
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone by saying cheesy. When I wrote that I was referring more so to past weddings that anyone had attended and opinions on those. I'm sure that everyone who does have a themed wedding is putting alot of thought into the details & the result will be great!

I think with your date the fall/Halloween theme is terrific. There is alot you can do at that time of year that is seasonal and elegant. Good luck!!

A Madonna themed wedding. Everyone in the bridal party has to wear a coned bra.

I did a Medieval/Camelot theme wedding. I started with 'Scroll Invitations' to give people an idea of the tone of wedding I was going to have. Any personal touch you do for your wedding will make it special and memorable.

Re: Themed Weddings?
We're doing a nautical theme. Our reception hall is decorated in sort of a yacht club decor, and it overlooks Port Jeff harbor. We are using a compass logo on our ceremony programs and (hopefully) invitations. We are giving out favors that look like a message-in-a-bottle, and my FH is going to be dressed in a NOAA Corps military uniform (he drives ships for a living!). I think my floral colors are going to be periwinkle, seafoam green and either pale yellow or purple.

Tiffany theme, just like Toni Braxton. The brides will be wearing turquoise/lime which looks like a tiffany box, lol. The favors will be lil blue boxes and say 'our last name' & Co.

Re: Themed Weddings?
We had a few themes. It started out as a medieval theme(Location, Dress and lots of candles). Then we incorporated our theatrical backgrounds(our RD invites were theatre tickets, we did our programs like Playbills, and named our tables after shows we have done since we met each other). Also a black and white theme( wedding party was dressed in black and white, our cake was black and white and we gave black and white cookies out as favors). It was not cheesy at all!!! Everyone commented on how unique our wedding was because it was really all about our tastes and loves in life.
