There is no 'perfect' hall...

Original post by PeterNChris

I am a very indecisive person as it is.
Just whenI find the most perfect place, I find out: I can not make the minimum, or it is too much money, or I have to get married on a Friday or Sunday!
Then they show me the little room for the same price for the larger , prettier room!
I always want to see the 'bigger'room but they never want me to even step inside!
Ugh!!!!
HELP!

FYI

I went to Milleridge , I didn't like how the BM was uninterested in our wedding, it really dissapointed me. Our BM was more consired with weddings being booked in the Cottage than the carriage house, Which we would have been in.

I had the SAME EXPERIENCE!

I had a similar experience - but I think it was because she knew we wouldn't book there. Our # was too small for the cottage, but too tight for the carriage house - the cottage does NOT have a minimum of 100 like someone else said, otherwise, it would have been a contender for us.

The BM was very nice, but I got the feeling she was just going through the motions and had a feeling the Milleridge wouldn't work for us, and she was right.

Nothing.. I just have a lot of out of towners and most have to work the next day.

Can you do it over a 3 day weekend?

There's really no such thing as perfect, it's what you add to it that makes it perfect.

We had difficulty finding a place that would do a wedding as small as ours. I finally found the Snuff Mill. They had a 70 min. for Friday night and 90 for Sat. It was a little more money then we wanted to spend, but it was so worth it. The food and location are truly amazing. I can also say that I felt like we totally got our money's worth.

What is the price range at Snuff Hill?

THe Harbor club in Huntington is nice, as is the Thatched cottage in Centerport.

If you look into country clubs it might be easier.

The Roslyn Claremont Hotel is another option that way your out of town guests can stay over.

I went to a sunday wedding this summer and had work the next day. It was the best wedding we went to this year! (We were also the last to leave)

Good Luck!

Just got a quote for Royalton at the Rosyln Country Club...

They have one sat nite in May lett, 165pp with a 150 min

Not even going to see it since the price is out of my league.

Not sure if anyone has recommended it yet, but you should check out West sayville Country Club. They were the least expensive out of all I saw. Something around $70... and that included centerpeices.
Its quaint, like a home, but not small. And it's only 1 room... HUGE bridal suite, too- and it's upstairs, which is nice.
If you look at their website, it has been totally renovated, so theres no more ugly walpaper.

Only reason I didn't go with them is that they only have burgundy chair cushions, and that didn't work for me.
Steve (?) is real nice, too.

Good luck!

Wow those sound like good prices!!! Someone told me they charge $5pp for bottled beer, I guess w/ those pricees it's not that bad.

Is there aplace for an indoor ceremony? Do they have a fire place in the reception room?

WSCC makes u pay extra for everything!!!
The CH is very limited!
Bottlked beer is 5.00 pp
Valet 4.00 pp
The BM is really cool..
The base price is cheap and the place is nice. BUt you have to watch out for extras.

No- Brooklyn BG has the Palm house and it's gorgeous but $$$ starting over 100 a plate. 110-130 daytime and 130-150 evening. Jamie Lynn DiScalla (soon to be Sigler again) from the Sopranos got married there. They are the only Zagat rated caterer! The Snuff Mill is in the NY Botanical Garden I think...
