So.....I'm paranoid and we just moved into an apt. so i put sticky traps down to catch anything living that shouldnt be. Last night at 5am we hear what sounds like a mouse eating wood but it actually was the sound of a mouse stuck in a sticky trap in my cabinet. .
I was soooo upset after realizing there are mice in my new apt, and how horribly it is going to die. FH put it in an open trash can outside so it is either alive suffering or drowned in the rain. I am soooo upset! I cant have mouse droppings all over my stove, fridge and counters (Yea....EEEEWWWWWW) but i feel bad about killing them. I wanna move out already!

Ewwww That is horrible. I would call someone to check your apartment. I am horrible with mice and bugs..lol

EW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we had a mouse in our apt last december and it was SOOOOOO gross!!! FH knew about it for 2 weeks but didnt tell me b/c he knew i would freak out!!! TWO WEEKS i lived in my apt with a mouse and had NO idea!!!!!!! i still get grossed out thinking about it!
we ended up catching it and never had another mouse problem (knock on wood!)

That's a sticky situation, no pun attended. It's your home, don't feel bad for trapping them. They'll never leave and breed there, causing a bigger problem. Apartments are domains for mice and waterbugs....I hated that back in the day....ugh! So sorry, catch those bastards and sleep again!

I live in the downstairs of my parents' house, and a few years ago there was a mouse in my bedroom! I had to sleep in my brother's room until we caught it (he was away at college).
We used the humane traps. If you are going to get kill traps though, just use the snap traps -- sticky traps are basically the most horrible thing for an animal. They try to chew their own legs off to get free and often wind up bleeding to death! We had them in my old office and it was disgusting.

ok, i keep hearing strange noises and i dont know if i am paranoid or not-i am considering moving out after being here for 10 days, i am too freaked out. oh and when we first slept over i discovered that there were bed bugs with all bites all over my legs-they spray all over and its ok for now but i have a very negative feeling about this place now. Is it normal to have these problems when you first move in?

Awwww! That's horrible I have this phobia of rodents...I would HATE that! I used to have mice in my house...even after we got an exterminator, they'd show up every winter....but since I got my cat 5 years ago, they completely disappeared! I mean, I haven't seen one mouse since...

eww thats terrible! def tell your landlord and if you have that and bed bugs id ask him to get an exterminator or something..in an apartment you really shouldnt have to deal with those kind of things..im sure you are paying a lot of money to live there and u def shouldnt have to live with that for that amount of money!

OMG be careful. Bed bugs are really hard to get rid of. Definitley talk to someone because you are paying rent and should not have to deal with this.
