Things I hate about living in an apartment

Original post by AmandaLynn04

In no particular order:

1. My crazy friggen neighbor who feels the need to knock on my door for any and every reason under the sun, and her 6 year old still in pull-ups. Once she knocked on the door to ask me if I get mold in my tub! And she told me a great solution!! I wanted to tell her that I prefer to mix ammonia and bleach and suggest she try it, with the door closed and no ventilation.

2. Not having a washer and dryer in my apartment, and having to walk outside around the building to do my laundry in no bra with yesterdays makeup all over my face.

3. The really big lady in the other building who wears BELLY SHIRTS.

4. The weirdos who put a lawn chair in the middle of the grass and chill out.

5. The strange foreign lady who kept her stairmaster outside for several months.

6. Whomever decides to put salsa music on at 11pm wayyyyyyyyyy too loud.

7. The maintenance man who let my dog out and decided not to say anything..... and I love the people a few blocks away who took her in and called me!

8. The disgusting food smells.

9.The lady who talks very loudly on her cell phone outside in front of MY apartment at night.... until the other night when the windows were open and I yelled, 'Talk in front of your own goddamn apartment.'

That is all for now.

What do you apartment livers hate?

That is hysterical I can't believe I've never seen this thread! The things I hate about living in an apt:

-The bugs
-The super who somehow lives here for free BUT manages to not fix a damn thing (think schneider from one day at a time)
-not being allowed to have a puppy
-the size, people come here for the first time and want a tour and this tour consists of here's the living room turn around there's the bedroom, within one whirl, there's the kitchen and the bathroom, how's that for a friggin tour?

Yeah I'm a landlord lol. We rent an apartment in our house - let me tell you as much as you guys complain about your landlords we complain just as much about the tenants!!!! It goes both ways, remember that!

But I can top any of this. Our street has a lot of rental houses on it. For instance the house to the right of us is completely rented out. 3 families are in it, one of the women who lives downstairs right next to our bedroom window (remember that part) lives alone, she's a little 'strange' and she likes to pleasure herself at all hours of the day and night. LOUDLY! it's hysterical my new tenants finally heard it for the first time the other day. you have NO idea how annoying it is to be sitting in bed watching tv then have to turn the volume up b/c of the porno that's being made on the other side of the fence! we call her the happy humper or HH for short.

come on over for a listen!

OH MY LORD!

Don't fret! there are good places out there! you just have to look!! I absolutely love our apartment. We've been there for 4 1/2 years, and I have no desire to move, until we can afford to buy a house. We've got two bedrooms, so I can even have a baby or two while we're there! People are astonished when they see how big our place is, I guess compared to some that they've seen. My landlord is fantastic...shows up once a month to collect the rent, and that's it, unless we call him...We have Halloween, and New Year's Eve parties, and have never gotten a complaint...even with having 50 people in the apartment...
So it doesn't have to be all that bad!!! you CAN get lucky!!! I did!!!
oh, AND, we're four blocks from my parents, and five blocks from his!!!

Okay, I just can't. Now, you'd have to meet her to really appreciate this....

We got a letter the other day that they are repaving the p-lot, and we have to keep our cars out starting tonight through Sunday. Then, one of the maintenance guys knocked on the door today, to tell us they screwed up and we had to keep it off until Sunday night (it was originally only Saturday.) So, there are 2 reminders to move our cars right there.

This lady is standing at the entrance of the parking lot, IN THE DARK, on a busy road, stopping people to remind them to move their cars. With her 7 year old that she has no control over, who could easily run into the street. And, he's outside in Pull Ups.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???????

He has.

In fact, FH was having poker night, and someone was a little late... so he opens the door to come in, and Captain Pull Ups follows him right in. He walks up to a complete stranger and says, 'Can I have a hug?'

Her kid used to walk right into my apartment. (I used to keep the door unlocked when I was home.....). Then, after I began locking it, he would open the mail slot in the door and look in. I had a Raymour & Flanagan ad taped to the back of my door for months.

She also feels the need to alert the mailman when we are away for the weekend, and take my mail in. I have a goddamn slot in the door, the mail can sit on the floor until we return!!!

omg that would PISSSSSSSSS ME OFFFFFFFF!!!

LMAO- that kid has issues!!!!

Its not even his fault though- his mother is a loon.

I didn't even know they make pull ups for 7 year olds.

I KNOW that is FH ever saw a kid that age in pull ups, he would bust out laughing- it would be very sad for the kid...LOl

LOL...Captain Pull ups

I hate that...

(1) I don't have a washer/dryer.

(2) My landlord broke her key in my door lock 3 months ago, and still hasn't fixed it, so I can't lock the top lock.

(3) The pile of random wood, children's toys, and kitchen bowls that sit under my window in front of the house. Why???

(4) The FOUR cars in the driveway and street in front of my apartment (I have only 2 landlords)...half of which aren't driveable.

(5) The pile of trash that sits in my parking spot from the neighbors next door on a weekly basis.

OmG.... i hate that I pay thousands of dollars extra in maintenance to fix the elevators and the lobby...and it's almost a year and they have not even started the lobby...but finally ALMOST finished the elevators!!!!! ughhhhhhh

But I LOVE having a doorman, having a sweet view, being able to walk to work everyday, and having all the stores I need right downstairs, including FAIRWAY four blocks away! don't care about laundry...thank god i have a cleaning lady...takes care of everything, even ironing!

Re: Things I hate about living in an apartment

I agree with your 2 & 8. I also hgate that I have NO closets. That's right ladies, NO CLOSETS. It's like being on Survivor or something. But, we love our neighborhood and out landlord is very nice and if we were to move to another apt. in the neighborhood it would cost 2754579759205720 dollars to rent and we would never be able to save and buy a house.

BTW, I know this is old and I didn't even read through, I just saw it and JUMPED at the chance to vent.

Thanks.
