Things That Make Me Happy

Things That Make Me Happy

I met the right guy.

He asked me to marry him.

When we told his father, he said, 'I wouldn't have wanted anyone else' (to be his daughter-in-law).

When I told my first friend, she squealed, 'I'll be there in five minutes!' and she was, even though it meant she was going to be late to a tournament. (She's one of my BMs.)

Two of my BMs sent me sweet 'thank you' cards for asking them to be in the wedding party.

When I asked my sister to be my MOH (the day after we got engaged), the following day she started calling catering halls and searching around online, even though she lives in another state. She started researching everything before I did.

Before we got engaged, she was worried that her boyfriend was going to propose before mine was. She went to my mother and asked what she should do, because she wanted me to be the one to have the honor of being engaged first (because I'm the oldest). She said she would ask her boyfriend not to propose until after we got engaged. When I found out, I called her and told her how amazingly thoughtful that was, but told her not to be silly and I would be happy for her, no matter what order we got engaged in! But she still insisted that it should be my 'special time' first.

Someone who reads my newsletter, but has never met me, sent me the most amazing basket of goodies for our engagement.

There are more, but I'm forgetting things now. So... what are some of the things that have happened since your engagement that make you happy?

Re: Things That Make Me Happy

In may of 2002 I found out that I had a brain tumor. This news totally rocked my world. I was 21 years old how could this be happening to me!
Luckily for me I have the most amazing people in my life. One of those people is my FH at the time I discovered my brain tumor we were not engaged yet. That was all about to change.
On June 28th, 2002 Michael (my FH) asked me to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together. When he asked I was stunned and shocked since my health made the future seem so unsure.
In July of 2002 I had the tumor removed succesfully. I have made a full recovery and doctor's are very optimistic that the tumor will not grow back and that I will be able to live a long life.
The most wonderful thing that could have happened to me at all was that someone so amazing as my FH picked me to spend the rest of his life with and that God made me well enough to enjoy every minute of it.

Wow you have A LOT to be happy about! I cna't compare but I will share.....

*Lighting the Unity Candle with my HUSBAND and my new step children!

*Having my friend from Florida (who was bumped from flights) drive THROUGH THE NIGHT to be at my wedding the next day!

*Listening to my 16 year old step daughter's speech at our reception.

And now since the wedding:
*Hearing each of kids say 'I love you' before we hang up the phone
