Thinking about making my own chair caps

Thinking about making my own chair caps

I can't find the organza Chiavari chair caps that I want ANYWHERE, so I was thinking about ordering the fabric and beading and making them myself. I have NO sewing experience, but I figure it can't be too hard to sew a couple of straight lines with a machine (my mother has one). I'm thinking the materials will be about $250-300, which is less than $2-3/chair. I was hoping that I might be able to sell them to someone after the wedding to make back some of my money too. The pics below are my inspiration (and some fabric/beading alternatives). What do you guys think?

Edit: ugh, the beading pic won't upload...here's an example on Etsy - Esty pink beaded fringe trim

Really pretty.

Does your mom or anyone you know have sewing experience? If so, maybe you can get some help. Good luck!

My mom does have some sewing experience, but she thinks the idea is stupid and a little self-indulgent. Decor is one of the most important things for me, though. I'm sure she'll break down and help me when I whine about it though!

I think it's a great idea. Maybe you can test out your sewing on some cheap fabric first for practice.
