Thinking of a destination wedding again!!! Help!!!

This is a repost of the Brides helping brides board but I want my 09 girls to help me out too!

Okay. I'm toying with the idea of a destination wedding again, lol! I just can't make up my mind! What are some of the best places to have a destination wedding? It will most likely only be FH and I and maybe a few guests probably under 10 people. We were thinking Puerto Rico because his grandma, grandpa and handicapped aunt live there and they mean a lot to him. It would be very hard for his aunt to travel, she's in a wheel chair. Then maybe we could throw a party at a VFW or cheaper reception hall in the off season to celebrate with the people who couldn't make it. Then maybe we could have the DJ show our ceremony video and maybe flash pic s taken at our ceremony on a tv screen?? What do you guys think?? Would it work out cheaper this way???

Hey Maureen,

When planning a wedding it is so hard to make decisions. You want to make sure that overall everyone is happy. One of my co-workers had (2) weddings. She got married in Hawaii with just close friends. And then she came back and had her wedding & reception of 90 at Russos on the Blvd.

Hey I understand where you coming from. If you do the destination wedding...its fine to have an @ home reception.

My FI was upset because we werent going to be able to invite all 3 million of the ppl on his list and I told him when we came back from our HM we could throw a huge party and invite everyone. But only close family would come to the destination wedding!

Hey Maureen,

I actually LOVE the idea! Especially since your FH has family there in PR.

Weigh everything... make two lists and compare them. Compare costs for destination + off season reception to having an LI wedding during peak months. Someone on the '08 boards said that her sis got $45 per person at Westbury Manor She booked a Sunday afternoon off peak for '07 I think.

Having the shots of your wedding displayed on screens during your reception would be so beautiful!

Good luck!

P.S. I think Sandals All Inclusive offers a free wedding package if you have only 4 guests. Just a thought. I'm not sure if they have a resort in PR though.
