The best way, in my opinion, would be to talk to one another. The communication the two of you will have will make it all the more special. Plus, think of it this way - when/if you decide to get pregnant, there will be a time where you will not want to even think about having sex - this will give you that practice!!!!

I 100% respect your decision to abstain. All the more power to ya. God help me though, I'd go crazy. No vibrator in the world can hold me for that long, especially when he's sleeping right next to me!!!!

It has nothing to do with religion. Some people want to abstain for a certain amount of time before the wedding because they believe it will make the consummation of their marriage more special.

I spoke to FH about this and I wanted three months, we negotiated for months and came up with a month prior to wedding. But to be honest I don't think I could go through with it especially since we live together. He's already sufering just thinking about it.

I applaud your courage and strength.

I can imagine how hard it must be for you. You live with him. I always had the vision of being a virign when I got married but things didn't happen that way. I was 22 and fell in the trap. Having told FI my story he thought it would be great to give me everything back. We both decided not to have sex until we got married. It's been hard but I just think my wedding night will be so much more special.
There has to be a reason you decided to abstine so just think of that and hopefully you'll be able to forget about it.

Same here. But it's mostly b/c FH and I do NOT live together and we work opposite shifts, I work days he works nights. We only get to see each other 1 1/2 days per week. So I think we'll unintentionally abstain before the wedding.

FH actually brought the idea up, of abstaining. Not sure if he was serious or not.

I give you and FH a lot of respect for doing this.

same here - we've lived together for alomst 5 years - and now we work opposite shifts.

I think if you can do it and you want to do it great and best of luck to you!!!

But IMHO I think in a time of stress and chaos why add more stress to your lives? Sex is supposed to be an intimate and pleasurable experience between you and your FH. I think if you make it something that you both stress over and constantly worry about it's just going to cause problems. It's is definitely going to be special on your wedding night because he is now your husband. In my opinion you don't need to abstain to make it special. Why would that change things? Are you going to forget how it felt? Honestly I just don't see the point.
