A Buddhist monk suggested since we are having a Buddhist wedding to abstain for 30 days - FH was like - ah - no...

My best friend and her DH were together for a year and half before they got married. They never slept together before their they got married. Hell, they didn't even kiss until they had been together for 7 months. The plan was that thier first kiss as man and wife would be thier first kiss period, but they didn't make it. It was really hard for them because neither of them were virgins. But they both found GOD and decided to do it the old fashion way.

I don't get it. Who are people fooling but themselves? A lot of us either live with FH anyway or close to it and we are not 18 years old either.

I understand if someone wanted to 'save' themself for mariage but otherwise. Why?

Is sex going to be that much greater after 4 or 6 months? If so, wow... I have been missing all along. NOT!!!! In that case, maybe we should all abstain during the year, why just stop for the wedding. We should all tell Dr. Laura. Just hold off for 1 to 2 weeks. That should do it! I am not planning on stopping. I will enjoy it just as much on my wedding night.

I asked FH about it. He laugh at me and asked me why. I tried to come up with a BS answer.

I kinda agree w/ a lot of what the other ladies are saying. It does not seem logical to me...actually just seems like you 2 are putting yourselves through unnecessary torture. It's your decision, but realisticly, it will be very special on your wedding night even if you don't wait. Think about it...it's a special moment in your lives, FH will see you looking more beautiful then he has ever seen you in your gown and you him in is tux, etc...it will be special. If you have already done it, and there is no religious reason for it, it seems kinda pointless, but that's up 2 you. Give yourselves an outlet for that pre-wedding stress
