I am so sorry to hear this. I would most likely do what the other girls suggested. You can have a civil ceremony to include him. Good luck with your decision

I am very sorry for you. If it possible to have a small intimate wedding now rather than waiting, I say do it, but if that isn't an option I think a nice e-party is a wonderful idea. I lost my grandfather to cancer last June, and I am very glad to say that we had a wonderful e-party before he passed & I was so glad that he got to be there for that.

can you change your wedding date? it may seem like a lot to do and a lot of trouble to go through, but the memories of having him there, the photos and the video, may be pricelss. My best friend moved up her wedding when they found out her FMIL had lung cancer - she planned the whole thing in 3 months, and she says it was worth it. If that's not possible I agree with what some others said - have a huge holiday family party, even if it's in January - you will cherish the memories forever. I'm sorry about your sad news.

I agree with everyone else. Have a small ceremony with him there and then have the big one in 2004. It will be really special I think for both you and you FH and his father.

Wow, you ladies are great. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and advice. I will share all of this with my FI, he will be touched. We will definitely discuss what we are going to do. It just all happned so fast that we now have a lot to think about and decide. But I definitely would like to do something where he knows that he means a lot to both of us and his presence is important.

I will take all that you have suggested into consideration. I will let you know what we decide to do. I just don't want there to be any regrets and I want to make wonderful memories.
