Do you get the marriage license in the place you live or the place you're having the wedding?
FH and I both live in NJ, but we're getting married in Queens...where should we apply for a license? Or does it not matter?

You have to get a NY state marriage license if you are getting married in NY......so basically get the license in the state the marriage will be performed.
Yes its a big PIA unfortunately, i had to drive to NY one morning during the weekday since there are no weekend hours.

I figured that..it is a PIA, but oh well!
How long does the processing take? I'm a teacher, so I'll be off the last two weeks before the wedding--I could always go then!
