We booked with Patken, but they are all great photographers. It just depends on what your style is and who you like best.

I booked with Thomas Paul I liked him best because he wasn't a sales man and wasnt just about making money, he seems like a really good guy. Also his prices were lower than any other company I meet with...Good luck!!!

I didn't meet with the other two, but I'm using Thomas Paul, and Tom has been wonderful so far. I really enjoyed his relaxed attitude - he was much more friendly and personable than a lot of other people who we met with.

And he's been great - he spend a good half hour on the phone with me a couple of weeks ago, talking through the schedule for the day of the wedding, making recommendations for when and where and how to do things... he's totally flexible, told me he had no problem getting there an hour earlier, following me to the hair salon, whatever, despite the fact that it means extra gas and mileage on his car...

I also really felt like he offered a lot more than other places - one of the few places that threw in a ton of stuff free with the package, including engagement shoot, thank you cards, all pics on cd, etc, etc, etc.

Haven't had my wedding yet, so here's hoping he keeps up the good work! But I'll be sure to let you all know.

I am using Thomas Paul so my vote is obviously for him, but I had 3 friends use Patken. All the pics came out nice but definetly had more of a traditional style than some others. So it really has to do w/ your taste

I met with Patken and although their work is great, their prices were a bit high for what we wanted. (FM for quote). They also would not give us a straight answer about prices. I wanted to change from the album that they put in my package to a different one and they told me that it couldnt be done until after the wedding because ' I should see that all the proofs will flow right in the magazine book'. When I asked the price, it was like an inconvience to give it to me. I wanted to have some idea of what the total would be at the end.

They also are more traditional.

We wanted traditional and candids. When we met with Thomas Paul we just knew that he was for us. His work is great and we are getting so much more in our package.

Thomas Paul is one of my favorite vendors, we booked with him so i am biased.
he was just so comfortable to work with, and offered a LOT in our package and his prices were lower than almost everyone we met with and offered so much more than everyone else did.

we also loved his style. we're using him for photo and video.

i also go with tom. i spoke with him today and he was just the nicest, most laid back person i've talked to yet while wedding planning. I'm meeting with him next week and am very very excited. he seems like a total sweetheart. explained things excellently and had an awesome price to throw at me. not to mention his pictures are amazing

Thanks ladies... I am leaning more towards Leli...he seems to be more my style...I do not want to be posed and TP said he is 90% posed but he said that it won't look posed... I am going to go to all my appointments just to make 100% sure of which one I want... thanks for the input!

I didn't meet with Patken or Thomas Paul but I have to vote for Leli Photography!!! I love Gary's style!! You have to see his albums when you go to see him. He work is awesome! He does both traditional and photojournalistic. Also I enjoyed meeting with Gary. He was soo relaxed, no hard sell. He really wanted to hear our ideas and what we liked and didn't like. It just felt soo much more personal than going to a big studio. I felt more like a number and money sign in other places than a bride. I just did my E-pics with him and had a great time. I my pics!!!!! If you have any questions feel free to FM me. Good luck with your planning!

What TP means by the fact that 90% is posed is because you really can't get that many amazing photojournalistic shots w/out posing them. The difference w/ tp is that he knows how to make it look candid and not posed. His style is definetly more contemporary than photojournalistic or candid and his editing tecniques are the best I have ever seen

I don't want to sound rude - but photojournalistic is capturing moments that are random and as they happen... not posed...

I'd say he's definitely more of a contemporary photographer..
