Where is everyone from who isn't in New York? Do you miss New York or happy where you are?

My sentiments exactly! Both DH and I are originally from LI, and our families are still here... as much as we miss them, we love our new life in Charlotte. There's just so much more for us here, and our families realize that.
I wanted to move to Charlotte But my DH didn't want to raise children away from our families, even though we are not ready to have kids yet. That is the ONLY reason why we stayed here.

Im ready to move to Florida. My DH is even more ready to move to Florida since his whole family is there but the only thing keeping me here is having children and my mom not being able to see them all the time. My brother lives in florida and I feel that if I had children there that would be both childrens children that she couldnt see.

I am living in VA right outside of DC also. I moved here for a teaching job, couldn't get on in NY. My FI both grew up in Babylon, now that he moved down here to be with me I love it. I can't say the same for him. I already had friends here before I moved and FI doesn't know anyone, and he's sick of hang out with girls. But hopefully after we get married we can buy a house and really settle down and become friends with some neighbors.

We live in NJ..not too far..Dex is from Trinidad and I am from Oklahoma..yeehaw.but we love NJ. We are in NYC alot, so we dont feel like we are missing out of anything.

Grew up in Coram/ Middle Island area and DH grew up in Shirley we just moved ( about two weeks ago! ) to Fort Myers Florida. So far so good! LI was just way too expensive and thought of buying a home there at LI prices made me ill. It's sad that we are far away from friends and family but I know in the long run this is the best thing for us. We can always go back to LI and friends and family can always visit us. Thank god for airplanes

I grew up in Flushing and then my parents bought a house in Uniondale when I was 12. I went to college in DC and then moved to Chicago for a job after undergrad. I met DH here. He was born and raised in Chicago and never wants to leave.
I would love to go back to the east coast to be closer to my family. I also miss the proximity of other metropolitan cities on the east coast. There is no where to go in the midwest. DH absolutely hates NY, but we both like the DC/MD area.
The thing I miss most is family and friends. I am having my first child and I hate the fact that my mom won't be close to see the baby grow up.
