the store i bought it from was running a special on this particular designer so i already got it for 15% off. i didn't feel right bargaining for more.

Yep! I bargained them down to the price that I found it for in another store and saved about $300. Not a whole lot, but I was proud of myself since I am soooo not the haggler at all. (That's why I bring my husband places! )

I bought the sample in the store. The dress was way over my price range, in fact it was double! The same price as my photography and videography!
So when I decided to go with a dress half the price, the saleswoman asked if I woudl be interested in buying the sampe!

Since the dress was higher in the price ranges it didn't get tried on too much and it fit me perfectly. (see profile)

I did- this is how.
I tried the dress on at Bridal suite in centereach, and it was 1600.

then I tried in on at the bridal suite in bay shore, and it was also 1600. They told me they would pirce match anywhere but the commack wedding center. Alterations were capped at 150. If I bought a 400 tiara, I could get one veil for free.

I went to the commack wedding center, and they gave me a price of 1250.

I went to centereach, and told them about the wedding center, and they said they could do 1300, plus 125 for alterations and one free veil.

I went back to bay shore, told them about centereach, and they gave me one free veil (without the tiara), the dress for 1325, and alterations for 125.

I did something very similar to Sunny. Found my dress at Bridal Reflections for $2450. Called Commack Wedding Center and Paradise Bridals for their prices (they didn't carry the gown but gave me prices).

Wedding Center was cheapest, but I wanted Paradise cause I liked them, so I asked them to match Wedding Center's price and they did. So I (well, my mom) wound up saving ~$500-600.

(I should mention Paradise said if they matched the price they'd remove the alterations cap of $150, but by the time my alterations came around they had forgotten that, so I still only had to pay $150).

My mom actually helped on this one. We got my dress from Macy's Bridal in Virginia (where I live). Well, when my mom got back to NY she took one of my sisters to Macy's Bridal at the Smithhaven Mall to find my dress to show her. She found it and it was a little less $$, so she called up the shop in VA and got them to take another 5% off the dress. Go mom!!!

I got mine for 15% off because of a trunk sale and my mom convinced the owner to not charge me for alterations($500). She told them some sob story that she wants to buy the dress of my dreams but it's too expensive, if only they could not charge her for alterations and they said okay. She is so good at bargaining!

My dress was $800 in the store. I left and came back, I told them that I could get it at another store for $550 with a $250 cap on alterations. They made me wait and call the next day, but they matched the price. They are also giving my BM's 10% off their dresses.

I really lucked out & didn't have to haggle AT ALL - my salon offered to let me pay a lower price - without me even trying!!

I'd been eyeing my dress at RK for like $850 (cheapest shop I'd found my gown in). I found it online for $465. So planned to buy it online & just find a seamstress.

Went to the Bridal Bldg in Midtown. Explained I was only looking for a seamstress cuz I could get the dress for around 50% less online.

The owner said I could buy the dress thru her for the internet price, as long as I brought in an email quote stating the size, style # & price.

What made this even BETTER is she did the same thing for my BP. So we all got our dresses cheaper AND saved on S&H!

I also didn't have too! I got my dress at kleinfeld and told them I had seen it at Bridal Reflections and they asked how much it cost. The dress was already $300 cheaper at kleinfeld so I was honest and told them the price. They said they would give me an additional 10% off for buying it through them, and in the end I ended up saving about $700!

i got a free veil...but after i shopped around stores...and she had gave me the discount she was going to (i had a paper from a weeding fair thingy i had attended that gave a free gown with purshcase but wanted to see which would be a better deal!)
