Those who had/have both sets of parents on invite...

Original post by NYtherapist

If you had or will have both sets of parents' names on your invitation, I'd love to see your wording.

I'm having some difficulty with this and really need a final decision within the next few days.

Thanks in advance!

Ours was:
Mr & Mrs Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx
invite you to join them
in celebrating the marriage
of their daughter
Marcie Ann
to
James Edward
son of
Mr & Mrs Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx
on Friday, the twenty-second of October
two thousand and four
at three-thirty in the afternoon
Saint Lawrence the Martyr
240 West Main Street
Sayville, New York

mine is similar but has 'request the honour'

My invites read:

(Brides Name)
and
(Grooms Name)
together with our parents
(Mr. & Mrs. Brides parents)
and
(Ms. Grooms Mom)
invite you to share
in the celebration of our marriage on
.....

We are paying for the reception ourselves, but our parents are chipping in for some of the vendors, so we didn't want to leave them off of the invite.

Exactly the same here except ours says 'request the honour of your presence'.....
We are paying for 90% of the entire wedding ourselves....but I wanted to include my parents and his mom. I think its nice and it means a lot to them.

My FI and I are paying for our wedding, but still want to include our parents on the invite, so we’re wording it like this:

Bride’s Name
Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. My Parents
And
Groom’s Name
Son of Mr. & Mrs. His Parents

Have together with the Lord
Decided to join their lives in marriage

They invite you to worship with them
And witness their vows
On (Date)
Year (spelled out)
At (Time)

Location
Street Address
Town, NY 12345
