Those With Bathroom Windows...

What do you have on your bathroom windows??? I'm looking for ideas on suitable treatments for the bathroom window .. which is in the tub/shower combo .. so I'd like something that is easy to keep clean from mold, mildew, etc.

I've considered those peel-n-stick window things .. that allow the light to come in while obscuring the view .. but I'm not sure about 'shadows' cast on the window at night when the bathroom light is on.

I'm thinking maybe a roller shade??? But again .. I'm concerned about mold & mildew forming.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

I didn't think shutters would be a good idea since the shower is used so frequently .. and I'm not even sure if the window is suitable for putting up shutters .. meaning I don't think there is enough of a ledge to set them into (hope that makes sense).

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

they do sell vinyl plantation shutters. if the window is not suitable for shutters, you could also buy vertical blinds and dress it up w/ a valance.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

i am sorry. i didn't read your entire post. if the window is in the shower/tub, isn't it high enough so no one can see in and out?

you coulld always change the glass to something more opaque.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

I'd either do the peel n stick window facing thing OR do a vinyl window curtain that they sell in Linen n Things...it's just like a shower curtain except for the window.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

I have frosted glass in my shower since the window is high enough, I don't worry about shadows.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

I just have vinyl venetian/horizontal blinds in both the kitchen and bathroom. They get covered with pollen from trees when I leave the windows open, but they are so cheap that I replace them if I can't get them clean I'm not sure this answered your question - do you not have privacy glass?

ETA: Sorry, I didn't read it properly either. Do the peel n' stick!

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

Believe it or not .. we have privacy windows in one bathroom (textured glass) .. and shadows have been an issue from that bathroom shower

.. so I was thinking maybe the peel-n-stick wouldn't be a suitable solution for the window in this other bathroom.

Re: Those With Bathroom Windows...

my mom has the shutter and they actually are great! they close or open, and the slats can face up or down and they are so easy to clean because they dont bend when you touch them. just soap and water.
