thoughts about veil...
I already ordered my veil but now I am having 2nd thoughts. I have a cathedral length train, and I ordered a 2 tier veil with a detachable cathedral length veil. (which makes it 3 tiers altogether) I am now thinking that might be too much...any thoughts on that? Does anyone else have a cathedral length train? What are you doing for a veil?

Cathedral trains are absolutely beautiful. It really depends soley on you and what you like. I have seen brides with no veil which looked beautiful and I have seen brides with all the veils which looked beautiful too. It also depends on your dress and headpiece. I am doing a ballgown with a tiara and a catherdral veil during the church and a 3 layer fingertip veil underneath which i will keep on. (3 layer because the top one is the blusher). I love the look of a veil and it is the only time in your life when you can wear one. I think it makes a bride look very soft and romantic. If you really like the veil but don't want it to overpower you try wearing the veil alittle lower on the back of your head. Good luck :)

what I am doing
I only have a sweep train on my dress, so I am going to wear a cathedral length veil which will be attached by velcro, and a 2 tiered viel that will serve as a blusher during the ceremony (one tier will be the blusher). At the reception, I will only wear the 2 teired veil. I say go for it- you are a bride, brides wear veils, like angie said, its the only time in your life that you will wear one.

what I am doing
I'm only wearing the cathedral length veil. With my dress, the blusher and other layers took away from the lines of my dress. With just the cathedral length its a much more sophisticated look and allows a clean view of the back of my dress. After the ceremony and the pictures, I'll take it off. If my other layers were longer (fingertip length) it may have looked better together. But they're pretty short and just too many layers for me. (my FMIL made the veil for her daughters so my customization was somewhat limited). Try it all on with your dress and do whatever makes you comfortable.

what I am doing
My dress is cathedral length, and I think I'm going to get a 2 tier veil placed towards the back of my head. I don't want 3 tiered, I saw what it looked like and it's too poofy for me. I don't want it to stick out. It's depends on what style you like. Good luck!

I had a detachable cathedral and a 1 tier fingertip veil and a detachable blusher. I took the cathedral & blusher off after the ceremony (they look amazing in the pictures though!!) and kept the fingertip on for the entire reception - I loved it!! The fingertip veil was so transparent that you hardly saw it - it was 100% silk - which really makes a big difference in the way it flows and lies and it didn't feel like it was in the way at all. Also, I thought the cathedral veil really enhanced the gown - hey, if you're going to wear a veil, may as well go all the way!! :-)Welcome New Vendors
