Whats everyone's feel on this ... Are you adding time to your cocktail hour? To your reception? And was it thrown in or an additional cost?
Our venue has a price per head for the hour which we can do wherever we'd like. But its pricey! Its not a venetian hour and certainly not included. My thought is what if people leave early then what? This is for an evening affair.
Thoughts? And if you did add on what was your cost per person! And what time does your affair start and end!

I'm not adding time. Honestly I don't see a point.

Yep we're doing this too so we get enough time for photos. Ceremony is at 6.30 and reception goes from 7 to 1am. Can't wait!

Did you guys have to pay extra for the hour or did they throw that in?

Re: Thoughts on adding time to event ...
we're getting married at the RH. We're having an hour for the ceremony and then 5 hours for the reception. That was the standard amount of time included.
I want it to go as long as possible, Im paying good money for this night hahaha

We are paying for an afterparty in Chateau Briand's beautiful outdoor garden!
CH: 3:30-4:30pm
Reception: 4:30-8:30pm
Afterparty / Viennese: 8:30 - 10:00pm (hoping to see some fireworks!)
We want the day to last as long as possible!

I added an hour to my reception. It went from 7pm to 12 so we added it to end at 1am. It was sooooo fun. We also paid the DJ for an extra hr as well. The dance floor was packed and our BM allowed us to only pay the per head $ amount for the people that remained.

We're adding a half hour to the cocktail hour. We could have added onto the reception instead, but we picked the cocktail hour since everyone likes that best and just in case we need to take any pictures we can and not feel like we're missing the cocktail hour.

Since we are having a bit of a gap between the church and CH we are now contemplating extending the CH a 1/2 hour, but only if they let us do it 30 minutes before the original start time. If not, then we will keep it as it is.

Re: Thoughts on adding time to event ...
My FH really loves cocktail hour, so we asked about adding an extra 1/2 hour to the CH and they wanted to charge us something ridiculous like $15 per person! Who is going to eat $15 worth of food in a 1/2 hour of CH??? Needless to say, we skipped adding on! Also with adding to the end of parties...depending on your original end time, most people are out at midnight. My sister added on to the end, but must people left. I guess it depends on your crowd though.

Re: Thoughts on adding time to event ...
Thanks Jeanette ... Ours is equally crazy per head! We do not get any add ons included in the price like Vienesse or what not so it has to be additional. I agree though most people leave by 12 myself usually included! Decisions decisions!
Any other input girls?

I think most peoeple leave after the 5 hour mark because they assume thats when its over. What about putting the money into renting a room at a hotel? Thats what we did. We rented a room, had our own personal bartender (for only $300) and got some appetizers. It lasted 4 hours and it was so much fun!

Hey, so you had a day wedding and then your after party was an additional 4 hours?

I originally wanted to add an hour to the end of the reception, but FH wants to see if we can get into the club next door for free and then just do a younger crowd after party there. It's owned by Bridgeview.
