I just called my florist and ordered enough roses to fill 80 cones.....that should be enough I think. The church is really small.
My question is do you think I have enough and how do I make the cones??????? If anyone has pictures I'd appreciate it!
Thanks everyone!

Re: Thowing rose petals
I am having 80 at my wedding..so I am taking doilies, rolling them over into a cone..tying them with a nice ribbon and putting them in a basket for people to take as they leave/ I bought my dloilies at teh dollar store....they will go right in thr trash a second later anyhow..I already experimented with them and they look great!

Great idea - thank you Alicia.
I'm so NOT crafty so this is a stretch for me
I'm going to hit Michaels and see what they have for paper. Maybe I'll get fancy and throw some stickers on them.

Ohhhhhhh - good question Emily!!!! I think I may have my little angels who are handing them out take them home along with the baskets.
I'm the only wedding that day so I can't even offer them to the next bride.

that sounds great! I Want to do something similar but I have a question-when & who puts all the roses together in the cones? Don't you have to do it that day so they don't wilt? when do you get the rose petals from the florist. I went to a local florist once and they just gave me all the rose petals they weren't using that day-FOR FREE!! maybe you could try that!

I have seen the types that you order online - anyone ever do this? Rose petals that come all pre-packaged?!

Re: Thowing rose petals
I attached a link with the picture of mine and some previous posts about this! My bridesmaids filled the cones that morning and it took only about 15 minutes. I got them from Linda's Lovelies!
Dawnie - you ordered them and then put them into the cones? Where is Linda's Lovelies? Is she a vendor on here?
What was the texture like if they are freeze dried?

Re: Thowing rose petals
I am going to make the cones a few days before with teh ribbons..and then its my fi's job and his guys to fill them with the roses teh day of..I kwo its a girly job..but our wedding isnt until 630 that night..he has nothing to do all day..me on teh other hand has to get up and have my hair done , makeup, etc. to be ready three hours before..he can fill up a few cones with roses..my reception is immdeiately after my ceremony, so my guests can throw the cones away right away indoors.

Re: Thowing rose petals
another option which isn't as handy for the guests would be to tie them up in a little tulle circel and tie a pretty ribbon around it. that's what I'm doing with dried lavender buds for my wedding. Just a thought.

Re: Thowing rose petals
I won them from a Liweddings the get together. Linda's Lovelies is a vendor on the site. I got the petals from my florist. You can have a choice of graphic printed in it with your names and wedding date. I also got to choose the ribbon. Hope this helps!

Re: Thowing rose petals
We just bought the dollies from the dollar store this sunday( the size is 6.5' )and i personally think any smaller would be too small unless i didn't wrap them right. They are soo easy to make...a child could do it! My only question is....How do you put the ribbon on them?
