Are a lot of you girls doing this? I'm debating on whether to do it or not because the last 3 weddings that I went to didn't do this. And I'm leaning towards not doing it at my wedding because there's not really any single friends left to go up there to catch them. And the last wedding that I was at that they did do it - the best man (in his 30's) caught the garter and the 13 year old junior bridesmaid caught the bouquet - soooo awkward!! So I'm thinking I'm not going to do it - I'm just a little torn cause it is tradition and I just always assumed that I would do it. Just curious.

Re: Throwing Bouquet and Garter
We're not doing either one. I didn't order a throwaway bok at all. I don't really like it at weddings and even in my single days never went up to catch it (maybe that explains why I was single for so long )

Re: Throwing Bouquet and Garter
I'm doing a married lady bouquet toss and then the one who catches it will dance with her husband and a married man garter toss and he'll dance with his wife and FH and i will dance with the 2 couples. I thought it would be fun and different.
I don't have many single ladies except cousins and FH's friends are over 30 and my cousins are like 20 so it would be creepy.

I'm not doing either. Even though I've cought the bo-k at a few weddings and had fun I dont want it at mine. I feel like it just takes up alot of time where my guests and I could be dancing.
NOT DOING IT! i know i have answered this before but this is why.... 1...none of my friends EVEr wanna get up...single or not... 2...i have been to more than one wedding where its been a horribly uncomfortable experience because of immature rude men! if a not so hot chick catches it...no guys get up...I dont want to put anyone in an awkward situation

We are not doing it...I thought it would be fun, but this was the one thing FH was completely against...and his points were the same as JJC! Couldn't really argue that!
yea so instead of the throwing i have a different plan. My prandparents will be celenrating their 60th anniversary in janaury so i am going to have my band make an announcement about that and then they will play a song that we LOVE
Sting - my one and only love
at this time I will ask them to join us on the floor where i will present my grandmother with my bouquet and we will share a dance with our husbands...

Re: Throwing Bouquet and Garter
Id rather not do it, we were planning on doing a couples dance, and to the couple that is married the longest, which I think is my great aunt and uncle with about 67 years of marriage....they'll get the bouquet, some family has done this and I'd like to keep that up!

Re: Throwing Bouquet and Garter
We aren't doing it, b/c when we get married I'll be 30, FH will be 34, and most of our friends and siblings are in the brackets of 30-44. I'm sure our single guests don't want to be singled out (literally) plus I feel like it wastes valuable dancefloor time. If we were in our early-mid twenties I'm sure we would have done it though.
