Tico Travel???? Costa Rica

We are going to Costa Rica for HM. We were quoted a great price from them, esp. compared to a friend of FMIL's who said she'd give a great price. Has anyone used tico travel- are they okay? It makes me nervous that they are about $800 cheaper!!

I have never heard of them but I am also looking into Costa Rica for our HM. So far I am interested in Si Nomo Con and Tabacon Resort & Spa. Do you have any other suggestions for me to look into? I've been doing the research on the internet. WIll probably book it all myself that way.

we went to costa rica in february of 2002 & absolutely loved it. the tabacon was amazing- stay in one of the suites with the jacuzzi on the balcony- it was beautiful & a great price. we booked it all ourselves.

several girls here have been there & have some great recommendations. do a search before you book.

i'm so jealous... costa rica was THE best vacation. We visited Tabacon on our first night and I thought i was in heaven. when i go back i'm definitely staying there. me and FI loved booking everything ourselves. when you get down there most hotels have tours set up. costa rica is great you can just relax like the carribean or you can do adventerous things.

I think it would be easy enough to book yourself but I don't want to rent a car so I didn't know any van/bus transportation. That's why I thought it may be easier for the agent to coordinate everything.

BUT I just noticed she had our departure airport as LAX!! I sent her an email - I hope that doesn't affect pricing too much! I'm glad I noticed that!

itsabouttime-- I'm booking at Si Como No and Tabacon also!

The other place I am looking at before coming back here is Xandari- it's about 20 minutes from the airport.

Also look into Hotel Punta Islita- it's supposed to be wonderful. But they suggest that you fly there and the maximum luggage capacity is 25 lbs so keep that in mind.

FM me if you have more questions.
