FH and I are paying for this wedding ourselves. I see some of the prices people are paying on here and what my friends are spending (or spent) and I can't believe it!!! I am trying to stay under $20,000. So far i have estimated $17,000 is anyone else in the same boat as me? I am having a hard time with halls because even tho i have found some 'cheaper' halls that are nice it just still seems like such a high price when you add it all up! its a bit stressful!
just needed to vent I hope I am not alone here lol

I feel like every time I go to buy the littlest thing....I pause and ask myself if this is going to take away from the seat cover fund I have going ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

paying for a wedding is definately difficult!! My parents are contributing..but as much as they want to pay for the whole thing..they don't have enough money

you are def not alone. our original budget was $20,000 and we had to raise it to $25,000...and i don't know if we can even do it...

We are on a tight tight budget.......super tight. I found a reasonable RH.....we went with a reasonable photographer....no video at this time....love the candle centerpieces...not a big bridal party, so that should save us on flowers. My grandma gave us a week using her timeshare, RCI...sot hat should save us some. It is stressful though...overwhelming. But, hopefully we can pull it off. We save as much as possible....
You can do it! It will be great without the frills....most people won't even notice!

Im in the saaaame boat. We're trying for $20,000 and it might come under or break even. Ive found alot of ways to save $$. Im doing alot of DIY (invites,programs, misc.) and finding alternatives to alot of expensive items. I bargain shop online mostly through Ebay. We're trying to stay under 150 ppl and I hope that happens. So far with what we've booked (rh, limo, dj) we're at $13,000.

I am from upstate NY where weddings are VERY different. I decided to go with winter to save money as well as a Friday. I'm not skimping at all and I'm right on schedule with my budget. I'm pulling off an under $11,000 wedding.

My budget is $15,000 for a 125 person wedding. We can do it b/c we are getting married on a Sunday night in March. I am not spending thousands on my dress, and our favors are about $1.20 each. It can definitely be done.

I originally wanted our budget to be under 25K...but with 340 on our guestlist, that was going to be impossible. We're already doing a day time wedding in the winter to save some money...I'm not doing floral centerpieces and I'm using friends for a lot of things.
Food alone (including the tax and tip) already put us at 26K.
FH told me that he first estimated our wedding to cost 10K....with the 340 guests!!!!!!!!! He had no idea what the costs were! Right now, we're at 35K as our final cost....eeeeeeeeeek.
Luckily FH's family has decided to chip in (since their side has the majority of the guests)...
