Timber Point Brides-- Thoughts on the dance floor?

Timber Point Brides-- Thoughts on the dance floor?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering what those of you who had your event or attended another event thought about Timber Point's dance floor. I'm interested in checking it out, but hear that the dance floor is in the corner of the room. Did you feel that it made a difference? Were your guests that stayed seated still able to watch the dance floor action, or did they have to get up and stand to watch what was happening? Just curious to get people's impressions. I've heard everything else about the venue is great.

Thanks in advance!

It was in our top 3 venues, and that was ultimately the reason we eliminated them. The people there are so nice and the food tasting was great, but we've been to too many weddings where the floor plan lessens the mood. I do love the fireplace right there though.

I agree...the place is very pretty, nice atmosphere, great food, but I didn't love the dance floor location. I went to a wedding there, and felt far removed from it, and couldn't see what was going on unless I walked over to it. I was sitting on the opposite side of the room. I still had fun at the wedding though!

we looked at it and really wanted it to be the one but we hated the dance floor being in the corner felt that whomever was up against the two walls would be hitting it all night.

...and it's such a great place too! The people there are great, I liked the bridal suite, and the food is delic. Just that one thing I didn't like!

I like it because the past few family parties some relatives complain about the loud music. I am having a band so I know it's harder to control the volume. All the 'complainers' will be sitting in the back away from the action! LOL

Thats actually the reason we DID book them. Not everyone we know is going to be all about dancing (and I am hoping to have somethings aside from dancing to entertain) so I figured it was perfect. My only concern is the size, but its not a HUGE concern for me. and I LOVE the fireplace that I was told will be on for pictures. Have a few votives for the mantle and everything

When I first went, they had a DJ set up on the dance floor and it felt small. I am having a smaller amount of guests than the place holds so I am putting the band in front of the dance floor, in front of the window, more on the carpet than the dance floor. This way I have the whole dance floor free for dancing and I won't need the tables in that area anyway.

We have a 200 min. Therefore, we are going to need that area besides the dancefloor for tables. Hopefully we can get some of it for the dj, but I am not too worried really since I am really hoping that I don't get overruled and can have some other entertainment like I want (themed wedding & i know a few people who belly dance, etc).

Initially it bothered me, but then I figured I can put the old fuddy duds towards the back and theyll be away from the band. Also, even the wedding that have a centered dance floor, you have to get up and walk to the dance floor to see anything if you have a table in front of you. So to me it didn't make much of a difference.

You are getting married the day before my birthday!

Thats pretty much what we thought to. As I said, I am a little worried bout the size of the dancefloor, but hopefully it won't matter too much.

It didn't really bother me, but my date was taken. I also wasn't sure if the indoor CH space was large enough. I've been to a wedding and a banquet in HS and it didn't affect anything.
